I just contacted NVC to get my case number. They said the embassy in Kathmandu is not requesting/accepting K1's at this time due to Covid and they don't know when they will resume. We have similar timelines, so I thought I would share what I know. My fiance is going to call the embassy in the morning to see if he can get more information on when they may start requesting again. Best wishes.

Hey, glad to see you join this section. Yes i called NVC last week to get my case number but they didn't have it ready. I will be calling them this Friday to get my case number to fill out DS-160. It's strange for Nepal, because everything there is currently open and no lock downs. I heard from few friends of mine that embassy is open and working on backlogs. We might get there once the backlogs are finished. I have another friend waiting for interview since May for his K1, that would give us some idea on things to come for us. I regularly check embassy updates and now they have started limited service for Fiance as well. They started to post fiance update since last week. This is the current update. Immigrant visa cases are being scheduled on a limited bases with priority given to certain Immediate Relative family members of U.S. citizens including fiancé(e)s of U.S. citizens, and certain Special Immigrant Visa applications.

I just had my k1 interview on 7 dec at the nepal embassy. My file was received by the embassy on 20 april from nvc.

Wow, that is a long time to wait between embassy receipt of your file and your interview. Congratulations on your interview! Thank you for the information, I hope they catch up on their backlog as quickly as possible.

Hi, was your case expedited? I have another friend who is still waiting for his K1 interview. His case was approved in May 2020 and is still at NVC. He sent an email yesterday to KTM embassy after embassy update, but received only the general email reply with no update. Do you have P3 for Kathmandu Embassy?
blank avatar KiloCharlie on 2021-01-04 said:
It was not expedited. p3 was not sent per se. My fiance received an email with the next step. The steps are available here https://www.ustraveldocs.com/np/np-iv-kvisa.asp. i am still waiting for info on passport pick up...

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
