Congrats on getting the interview scheduled! May I ask, was your case expedited or just normal processing time? My NOA 1 was July 27th and NOA 2 was March 6th so I've been following a few cases from Thailand with similar NOAs to kinda get an estimate of how fast things are moving along :-)

Our case was not expedited but we are using an Attorney and were prepared to submit the DS-160 and Affidavit of Support as soon as we heard from NVC. Just a few days later we were able to pay the visa fee and the Attorney was able to get the interview date and further instructions on the medical exam. I was expecting to have to wait for the Embassy to send a packet of instructions (packet 3) for this but it must have been sent online directly to the Attorney. We have been trying to stay a step ahead of things by getting documents together early so that the Government is not waiting for us to get to the next step. Good luck with your case.

Hi, that is great news! I'm also using an attorney and have been trying to do the same. Are you using an attorney from Thailand or from the US that was able to get the interview date so quickly? I didn't realise that an interview could be scheduled without waiting for Packet 3 or 4 to be issued.
blank avatar Buckaroo on 2021-03-27 said:
Kc & steph I'm using an Attorney in Austin that has a lot of experience and is board certified in Immigration. I don't know the details about the packets and was expecting the same thing about having to wait for them. The Attorney is waiting for us to send her my Fiance's police reports and we are expecting to have a conversation with her about the interview, so I may be able to post some additional details soon. Best of luck to you.

Thank you for the info! That is wonderful! Best wishes throughout the rest of the process 😁

Hi, couldn't help wondering about whether your interview is scheduled to go on as normal with the rising amount of COVID19 cases. In the past, they shut things down for a while and that's the info that I seem to be getting from the consular section on the Thai embassy page. Hope that by the time yours comes round, things will be much better!

Kc&steph We have not received a notice of any change to our interview date but clearly things are in flux right now in BKK. I'm not seeing anything new on US Embassy BKK's web or Facebook pages either.

What was the process for being able to pay the visa fee before receiving notification from the Embassy? My understanding was that that's not possible. Would love to learn more details about how you went about doing that. Thanks.

Does CEAC still show in transit? I thought we were supposed to wait till it says ready before we do the 160, medical and schedule an appointment?

I am not able to answer your questions because this part of our visa process was done by our attorney and was not visible to us. Best of luck to you.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
