Hi there! Thank you for sharing your timeline here. Could you give me more details on how you requested to expedite your EAD? I also received a job offer and I'm not sure how to do that.

Sure. I called the USCIS phone line and requested it. They asked me a series of questions. When had I filed, what application was the I-765 attached to, had I completed biometrics and had I requested an expedite before. They asked on what grounds I was requesting which I said was financial hardship. The operator asked me to explain and I said we were struggling to survive on one income and accepting the job offer would relieve that hardship. I was told that my request would be reviewed within seven days and I may be asked to provide supporting evidence.
In hindsight I would have sold the financial hardship side a little harder. I have read on reddit that other people who have applied for expedite have been rejected without any request for evidence because the description of the scenario wasn't that bad. I have heard one case where a person was going to lose their existing job and was rejected, they later applied for an expedite because they had a new job offer and were then accepted and received their card shortly after. There doesn't seem to be any method to the madness.
Good luck with your request.

Incredibly helpful. Thank you!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
