Consulate Review: Hungary
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : August 5, 2021
Embassy Review : 10 minute wait time until the first employee called me and asked to review and reorganize my documents before giving them to the consular officer.

20 minutes later, the consular officer called me to his window. He was very friendly the whole time. Asked me only a few basic questions: who is the petitioner, when did we get married, when did we meet, do we live together, what does she do for a living, what do I do for a living, have I traveled to the US before, when, where, and for how long I stayed. After these questions he said “everything is in order, except we’re still waiting for the clinic to send your medical results, but I have no doubt those will be fine.”

I was sent back to the first employee to collect my documents and that was it!
Rating : Very Good

Congrats on your approval! were you for sure at nebraska? my initial status check said i was but my NOA said it was Potomac? also did you receive a Actively reviewed status update before you were approved?
Bence on 2021-01-20 said:
@JJShoulder thank you! The USCIS case status site specifically said "being processed at the Nebraska Service Center" up until yesterday, 2021-01-19. During yesterday the page shifted to "being actively reviewed". And today (during President Biden's inauguration address) it shifted to "Case Approved"! The site doesn't say a service center anymore so a transfer was technically possible but unlikely. I also haven't received a text/email/letter with the notification yet.

Gratz on your approval. Did you request for it to be expedited? I'm happy for you, but it's also extremely frustrating, as we have a NOA1 date of September 25th, and still no word.
Bence on 2021-01-20 said:
@Alex: We had no expedite request, it was not DCF, and nothing of the sort. We filed via a physically mailed binder as prepared by Boundless.
JJShoulder on 2021-01-20 said:
We went the boundless route too, we are in the actively reviewed stage but we’ve been there 17 days, hoping we get as lucky as you guys, wish you a speedy process at NVC!
Bence on 2021-01-20 said:
Thanks so much, wish you all the same!

Dang, I was hoping to have our documents DQ'd this week, as I noticed most cases on VJ have timeframes from a couple of days to 3/4 weeks for that. But we submitted a week later than you, and you're still waiting for DQ too.
Bence on 2021-04-15 said:
@Alex That's right, I've been looked at all recent "NVC Left" timelines and saw the same pattern. Although many of those timelines are either DCF or had an expedite request; I'm not actually sure if regular cases like ours have fast DQs as well. The good news is that the document review backlog has been decreasing real fast in the past five weeks: https://underyx.github.io/nvc-backlog/

There happens to be a case of a fellow Dutchie, they filed their documents 3 days after me, and so 10 days after you. And they had their DQ within 3 days. So it kind of just feels like the NVC follows the same willy nilly order as the USCIS. https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?cfl=&id=339022

Grats on the DQ, hope you don't have to wait too long for an interview date!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
