Consulate Review: Nigeria Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa Event Description Review Date : January 26, 2021 Embassy Review : 12/22/2020 - Interview “Approved” - Pending Medical (CEAC reflected REFUSED) - The consulate never received the medical results even though the medical exam & vaccinations were done 20 days before the interview. The Interview went well. The CO asked many questions in regards to the petitioner, including previous spouse full name and divorce date. There was approximately 25 or so total questions asked. The CO reviewed the photo album which showed lots of friends and family at the wedding, and multiple other pictures of the petitioner with the beneficiary’s mom. The CO asked how we met, why we decided to marry in Nigeria and how many visits have been spent together. For identification, the beneficiary took their current passport, the previous passport (the CO asked about the previous travel) , their University Degree , NYSC Certificate and their NIN card. The CO was friendly and shook their head often and commented on how everything is very good and there are no issues except the medical results are missing. CEAC - 8 Total Status Changes * 12/22/2020 - Refused * 12/30/2020 - Refused * 1/14/2021 - Refused Received call from consular office regarding medical (two days after petitioner sent an email inquiring about status). Eventually, the medical director resent the medical results via email to the consulate after several phone calls and additional emails. This particular medical clinic (The Consultant Practice in Ikoyi Lagos) has had several issues with getting the results sent electronically the first time to the consulate. Many have had to have their medical results resent via email instead. * 1/15/2021 - Administrative Processing * 1/19/2021 - Administrative Processing * 1/19/2021 - Ready * 1/19/2021 - Administrative Processing * 1/20/2021 - Issued (awaiting instructions to pick up visa) 1/22/2021 - Picked up Passport at DHL. No sealed envelope. All information was sent electronically. Paid immigration fee online. The USCIS alien number (A#) was found in our interview letter as we were not given the immigrant fee data page at the time of interview and it wasn’t enclosed with the passport) 1/24/2021 - JFK POE - Very fast. - about 40 minutes. Was asked to verify address to mail green card. Rating : Good
