Consulate Review: Manila, Philippines
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description

Embassy Review : Fiancée breezed through the process. She had all the documents (binder compilation of docs) ready before arriving at the US Embassy.

Her scheduled interview appointment was at 8:30 AM. She arrived outside the embassy at 6:30 AM by the Manila bay where there was already a line forming up. It didn't matter whether she was early or not, they had strict security guards where if it isn't your time to queue in the line, they won't even entertain you. Once she got inside, the consul officers were very nice and asked the usual questions.

Questions asked:

Name of petitioner
Date of birth of petitioner
Work status
Number of household members
Where petitioner is currently living

Consul officers did ask to show W2's, tax return transcripts and cenomars of both beneficiary and petitioner (former filipino citizen). then after the interview, she heard the wonderful phrase, "your visa is approved. Welcome to San Francisco!".
Rating : Very Good

Wow! Your AOS was approved in just three months with no interview. Am I reading that right? Did you do anything special like request expedited processing?
Reu on 2022-12-19 said:
Yes! We were approved with no interview. I guess it's different for each case, there are some who were required for in-person interview. What my wife did was she expedited her case through the USCIS website (Emma virtual chat). Within a month, it was approved.

Thanks. I will try to do the same!!

We don't qualify for expedited action based on reading the requirements. Thanks for your help.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
