Event Description
Review Date : February 12, 2008
Embassy Review : We arrived ten minutes early and presented our interview notice. Five minutes after our scheduled time my name was called in and we were greeted by a nice IO lady, she swore us in and asked for our ID's.

We had a little detour when she openly asked us when we first met. I answered March 05 and my wife 06... oops! My bad, she was correct. I quickly learned to answer only when she was looking directly at me :-)... Suspecting funny stuff, she started firing random general chronological questions about our relationship... luckily we got them all right and were back on track. Phew!

She then proceeded to ask me the "have you ever..." type of questions from the I-485 form and then she asked for any evidence of marriage documents. No problem there I had a stack of stuff... She ended up keeping our bank statement, phone bills, house purchase agreement and our last tax return and also asked for my wife’s last pay stub. While I was fetching docs she flipped through the pages of my passport and asked me general questions about my previous entries.

After she was satisfied with all the info she concluded the interview saying "they" will have 120 days to make a decision on your case. I thought, Great, I will be stuck in the name check limbo forever, but then she gave me the instructions on how and when to have the conditions removed. Then she mentioned that I could apply for citizenship in three years. She said I would be getting the GC on the mail and as soon as she mentioned that a mental note popped up: “fingerprints” and immediately looked for a paper and said yes you would get your card on the mail. I guess that means my background check cleared. At the end she took my I-94 from my passport but did not stamp it.

There you have it... back to wait some more :-) hopefully not for much longer
Harassment Level : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
