Embassy Review : |
The interview time was 09:30, we arrived at 9:15. Contrary to the time three weeks ago, when I was there for my passport, there was no outside line today. Before entering the building, she took a quick set of passport photos at the machine at the embassy. They require a white background, most Japanese machines don't provide that. The waiting room was crowded, nearly completely full. At 10:15 her number was called and the prelimary paperwork was done with the obligatory fingerprints. Then a two hour long wait started. At 12:30 she was called p to the interview window. She was asked when we first met, when we got married. Then a couple of questions which were specifically for our case and most likely will not pop up for others. Has to do with refused entry at ATL airport. My wife answered truthfully, the lady said that was good and in any case not a cause for ineligibility. The last question was where she would live in the U.S. and when she planned to travel. The interview took about 10 minutes, then she was told that the visa was approved and passport would be mailed within a week. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
