Cynthia,
I'm Sean and it seems we've married Peruvians. :) If I might reach out, it looks like we're both at the NVC stage, and perhaps can share tips. I live in the U.S. and my wife is in Trujillo, Peru. I just noticed my wife needs to get a police report along with filing the DS-260, and if I'm not mistaken, actually 3 reports - Certificado de Antecedentes Policiales (Certificate of Police Record), Certificado de Antecedentes Judiciales a Nivel Nacional (Certificate of National Judicial Records), and Certificado Judicial de Antecedentes Penales (Certificate of Penal Records).
Is that your understanding? I imagine with the virus lock-down this may be very difficult if not impossible for her to obtain? I've been able to help my wife thru this process with some things being online, but unfortunately this may present a roadblock for a while. I haven't reached out to anyone else yet, but how has your process gone? For me it's been a slow frustratingly long process being apart from someone I fell in love with.
Sean

Hello Sean. That’s right. Due to the quarantine, those 3 reports are not possible to get at this point. I’ve talked to my Visa Agency and they told us a simple Police Report will do but I’m not so sure about it.
I was able to get my birth certificate and marriage certificate online but not the police report. It’s definitely frustrating.
To get the NOA2 took us a year! Because our papers went to the Nebraska office. And when it was finally approved, the lockdown started. So I totally understand how tough the waiting can be.
My husband currently lives in Perú too so he will try to contact the US embassy today and see what we can do.
I can keep you updated on that.
Good to hear from you! I did more research last night. I still don't know if the police dept will issue a police report in person, but I did find online methods for the other two reports! However they do require paid receipts from the bank I believe. My wife has no computer and struggles on her phone so I don't know if these will work yet but let me know if your husband has good luck with them. I hope we don't have to wait until the end of June to get the police report, but that may be the case.
