Hi, Congrats on the approval.
Which USCIS service center is listed on your bottom left of NOA2 (approval notice)?
Thanks,

Interesting, says California though as far as I know we were processed in Nebraska all along.

I appreciate the answer. USCIS tends to move the case right after issuing NOA1 (Receipt Notice), especially if you file it online. My NOA1 said Nebraska, but when I contacted the USCIS regarding the status of the application. I was informed that my case was in the Califonia service center from the beginning. Good luck with your journey at NVC, and I wish you more success ahead.

All the weirder as CA center status shows them 24+ months behind on processing while Nebraska is doing March, about 6 months, which is how long ours took; weird, but at least it's done.

Got Case FE Review note on 1/14/22 - exactly as expected for review times (3 months for NVC), asking for W-2 & 1099 (which don't exist as I didn't work in USA), so we filed reply with letter from accountant on that. Now waiting for NVC to review that letter and do final approval and release to consulate in China for interview setup.

Hi! Can you please let me know how the visa interview went and what it is like right now with covid protocols. Thanks in advance!

Visa interview was fine and straight-forward - get to GZ location VERY early as long line and wait, otherwise normal local protocols, I think.

Hi. Did she enter the US? How were the Chinese immigration officials at the border? What airport did she leave from? I’ve heard china is getting increasingly strict on letting citizens exit. Thanks
Steve Mushero on 2022-09-11 said:
Yes, she's in the USA, no issues departing from Shanghai PVG, no issues entering the US, very smooth. And since all docs are digital now, no need to carry a big packet from the consulate, etc.

Spouse entered USA (not posting date for security reasons), received Green Card within 7 weeks (despite immigration at the airport saying it might take 3-6 months with backlog), also got SSN card within a week or two, so all very smooth. I believe this concludes this Visa Timeline, at least until citizenship arises.

Appreciate the response. Did they ask her any questions as to why she was leaving? What did she show as proof if so?
Also congrats. I can only dream of this happening for me and my wife. Still currently processing in the USCIS stage, so a long way to go. What’s your opinion, Do you think China will get more strict on exits?
Steve Mushero on 2022-09-11 said:
I don't know, but she had an immigrant visa in her passport and reported no issues (though I was indeed concerned). This was Shanghai, which has few reported issues; problems seem to be in 2nd tier or other cities, perhaps. I doubt immigrant exits will be a problem, esp. as stated goal is reduce folks going out, getting COVID and coming back; immigrants don't really do that (unlike tourists).
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
