The AVITS site has proven to be worthless as nothing has ever changed and our original application was never added. Even the document review interview is not reflected so don't waste your time checking it. The email we received is below. Having patience is all we can do with the new site and process.

Dear Applicant:
You have been scheduled for an In-Person Document Review on January 21st, 2025, at 11:30am at the U.S Consulate General, Lagos. This review is designed to give applicants an opportunity to speak with a representative of the U.S. Consulate General to verify that they have all required documents before the visa interview. Applicants who come to their interview without all the required documents can face months-long delays in the processing of their visas.
Please bring all required documents to the In-Person Document Review.
Important note: The In-Person Document Review is NOT your visa interview. During your Immigrant visa process, you will visit the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos TWICE: first on the day of your In-Person Document Review, then you will be given another date for your visa interview on the day of your In-Person Document Review. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/LGS-Lagos.html.
If you have a minor that is 13 years and below, he/she is not required to attend the In-Person Document Review. Please note: This minor MUST be present at the Immigrant Visa Interview.
Please follow the steps below to prepare for your appointment. Please note that if you fail to follow these instructions you may be asked to re-schedule to a later date.
1a. YOU ARE REQUIRED TO BRING ORIGINALS OF THESE DOCUMENTS:
International passport (copy of biodata page with your photo on it required; see section three)
2 passport photos: showing the applicant’s full face on a white background. The required size is 1.5 x 1.5 inches (5 cm x 5 cm). For more detailed information on photo requirements, please visit travel.state.gov.
IV Processing Fees (K1) – Visit any branch of First Bank of Nigeria PLC in Nigeria to pay the visa processing fee of $265. (If you previously made payment to Guaranty Trust Bank, your receipt is valid for one year from date of payment.
Form DS-160 (K1) – Please submit the online DS-160 visa application by following the instructions at https://ceac.state.gov/GenNIV/Default.aspx. Please note the form is only valid for one year. If you submitted the form one year ago or more, please re-submit.
Police Certificate – Please submit a police certificate for ALL countries in which you have resided for more than one year after the age of 16 (if you hold citizenship in another country outside of Nigeria, you will have to provide a police certificate for that country of citizenship, if you resided there for a period of six months or more). Please note that only police certificates issued within the past 24 months are considered valid.
Other Supporting Documents: These include but not limited to the documents below to prove the existence of an ongoing relationship with the Petitioner
Photographs
Chat logs from social media or other communications applications (DO NOT print them on a word document – they MUST be printed directly from the site).
Phone records showing both phone numbers and the duration of the calls
Email correspondence (DO NOT print them on a word document).
Court and Immigration Records: If you have been convicted of a crime or other offenses, in the United States or elsewhere, obtain a certified court record covering each offence. If you previously resided in the U.S., you are encouraged to bring evidence of your immigration status during your stay, and records of any previous U.S. visa extensions and deportations that would be relevant for review.
1b. YOU ARE REQUIRED TO BRING ORIGINALS AND COPIES OF THESE DOCUMENTS:
Government issued birth Certificate – All beneficiaries must submit a valid birth certificate.
Marriage Termination/Divorce Decree (if applicable) (for beneficiaries who have a U.S. citizen spouse or fiancé(e) petitioner, divorce certificates are required for all the petitioner’s and beneficiary’s prior marriages).
Death certificates (if applicable, for prior spouses of beneficiaries and petitioners)
1c. YOU ARE REQUIRED TO BRING COPIES OF THESE DOCUMENTS:
Form I-134 Affidavit of Support (AOS) (K1) – Please have your Petitioner complete an AOS. To find the form, please visit http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-134.pdf.
Note that if your Petitioner does not meet the income requirement, you will need a Joint Sponsor.
IRS Tax Transcript – Your Petitioner (and Joint Sponsor, if necessary) must submit an IRS tax transcript. Petitioner’s most recent IRS Tax Return Transcript filed before the date of the AOS. For example, if the AOS was signed in 2024, then Tax transcripts from 2023 is required. Your petitioner can request a Tax Return Transcript at https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript.?(A sample of this document is attached to this email).
2. MEDICAL REPORT
Please make an appointment for a medical examination at any one of our panel physicians’ sites below. You should schedule your examination appointment for at least 6 weeks before your interview date. Please note that your medical report is valid for only 6 months and if it expires, you will be required to repeat this examination. The medical examination results will be sent directly to the U.S. Consulate by the panel physician.

K-visas are not required to receive the COVID-19 vaccine for visa issuance. However, they are not exempt from the US COVID-19 vaccine travel requirement.
3. DOCUMENT PICK UP
The U.S Consulate General, Lagos will contact you via email to return your passport and original documents after the interview.
4. CONTACT SHEET AND ARRANGEMENT OF DOCUMENTS:
You must fill the contact sheet that was sent to you in our previous email with your personal details and your US contact/Petitioner’s name. You must bring it to the interview.
It is mandatory that each applicant arranges the originals and photocopies of all the required documents before attending the interview. Each applicant (Principal and dependents) must present 2 sets of documents. A set of original documents and a set of photocopies. The originals and photocopies must follow the order outlined below.

Applicants under 18 years of age must be accompanied to the interview by an adult, preferably a parent, legal guardian, or other adult with direct knowledge of the minor’s family situation. The accompanying adult must present a valid ORIGINAL identity document (such as an international passport, driver's license, Voter’s card, or NIN card) for entry.
