They told him it could be used abroad but I don’t see anything about the cetrificate being legalized from foreign affairs. Not sure if this will be enough going by what they told him. Can you help me with this pls. Any info will help
Angie2426 on 2020-08-05 said:My husband was told the same thing so I told him to get the one from el ministerio de justicia just incase we get our interview scheduled before we get the legalized one. I asked my lawyer this same question and he forwarded the same information from the Department of State. My husband was able to request the police report from MINREX but was told he’d have to wait at least 30 business days to receive it. I don’t know how far you are in your process but my suggestion is to keep the one from el ministerio de justicia and to request the legalized one ASAP incase Cuba closes up again. When my attorney submitted the documents to NVC he added a comment (stating that our police report would be uploaded as soon it was available due to COVID-19 closures) on the police report section and it was accepted.

One other thing that I am having difficulty with is the docs stating he was in the military. He got the papers but I could barely understand anything. Even the Translater can’t understand any of the hand writing and is asking me to write it over where she can read it. Did you have any issues with that?

The most that I had happen to me was that some of the documents were printed too light but I would just take a picture of the document with my phone and make the document darker and send it over to the translator. I would suggest to get the document redone and save yourself a future headache. Being that it’s a document from the military I am sure that’s one thing the embassy is going to look in to.
