Day 1 Medical tests:
The medical tests took a long time, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I started at 7:00 in the morning and finished at noon, but I had to return after an hour to receive the results, and I had to wait for about an hour at that time before receiving the results. They asked me repeatedly about all my tattoos and about when was the last time I had used marijuana or any kind of drugs. In the medical test, the most difficult part was to pee into a cup in front of the staff with the door open. But overall it wasn't that bad.
Day 2 delivering the documents:
It was difficult for me because I didn't realize I needed my U.S. fiance's tax returns for the last five years. Fortunately I was given the option to bring those documents the next day when I came for my interview.
On this day (Day 2), I had a mini-interview (paperwork review) to make sure my documents were in order. The interviewer was friendly and kind and seemed like he was Mexican. He checked that all my paperwork was in order. He asked a lot of questions about my relationship with my U.S. fiance. He emphasized for me not to open the black envelope with the results of the medical tests and the envelope that I would receive via shipment with my visa approval.
Day 3 interview day:
I had to wait a long time. My appointment was at 9:30, and the interview started at about 10:30 or 11:00. As soon as I was with the interviewer, it was very fast and efficient. The interviewer only asked a few questions. She was not very friendly, but she was direct and to the point. She asked when we met, how we met, what our jobs are, and again about tattoos and drugs. She immediately told me that my visa was approved.

Timeline Comments: 3NVC says our case was transferred to the Mexico City embassy. But it's delayed due to COVID. So it is still sitting at the NVC waiting to be transferred to the embassy.
Hello Aaron, thank you for all the info here it is very helpful. May I ask how did you get in contact with the NVC?
Also did you have the option to choose the Mexico City embassy, as far as I knew back when we submitted our k1, we only had Ciudad Juarez as available. (I understand they opened a new area in Mexico City for interviews now)
Thanks so much for your help and the best of wishes for you both.
Hi, We didn't have a choice about the embassy. The transferred it for us. I called the NVC and waited on hold until I talked with someone. Might do that again for an update.
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
