Event Description

Embassy Review : It was easier than we expected. Our appointment was at 8 which is when they start working appropriately. When we arrived at the gate there was a big crowd containing both immigrant and non-immigrant visa applicants. They were asking people to go through security by time brackets. I had a tote bag to put all of the documents that we brought and even though there isn't anything more than documentation they didn't let me bring the bag in. The only things that they allow are documents, a wallet, and keys. Rest should stay out. after admission, there is only one way to go. After you got in the line there are a couple of staff to check your appointment, put a tracking sticker on your passport and forward you to the correct booth. even though there are many booths available there was only one booth working for immigrant visas. before the interview, your number is called for a different booth to check your documentation. They didn't ask anything (we were over-prepared). they took my passport, a biometric picture, military service status paper, and pictures I brought as relationship proof. They asked me if would english be okay for my interview and I said yes. After a little bit of waiting the only officer for immigrant visas called my name with a heavy accent (Thank god I am used to hearing different mispronunciations of my name). He administered me to take an oath and threw a couple of names like my wife's mom and dad. Then he gave the pictures and flier about my rights in the US as an immigrant spouse (that is the part that indicates they're convinced about your case and the rest will be a formality) He asked how we met and gave him a quick timeline and after that, his immediate response was congratulations your visa approved. everything took maybe 90ish minutes. all of the stress and anxiety didn't worth it. It was such a pleasant experience.

Hey everyone, we just got our visa approved. Everything took 90 ish minutes. First, there was a big line to get in, and they did not let Amy in. After I was admitted (they don't let you bring anything but your paperwork and car keys, so find a solution if you go alone), I followed the only way possible, and it led me to the visa section. Both immigrant and non immigrant visa applicants go to the same place. After entering the visa section, there is one counter on the left that checks your interview and sticks a tag to your passport, then tells you to go booth 18 to get a number and wait your turn. The first time your number is called they go through your paperwork(we prepared everything possible but they took my military record and some pictures only and they returned the pictures when interview was done) and ask if you would like to have your interview in english or turkish. Then you wait for your number to be called again. This time, it is another booth. They check your name, take an oat, and ask names related to your case. They asked me which state does my wife lives currently (she lives in turkey with me, not in states), does she planing on going to states with me, and how we met. After answering those briefly, the officer said congrats, your vise approved. I hope these details will help you guys. We were so nervous and over preparing papers, but they didn't even look like almost all of them. I guess as long as it is a genuine marriage, it is not that hard to get it.

Hello, first of all congratulations 👏🏼 🎉 🎈on receiving your visa. May your future quests be blessed. I only have one question: did you have to go through a medical examination and get vaccinated before going to the interview? Just curious

Thanks a lot. Since it was a terrible experience, I didn't even want to mention it. Short answer: Yes, I got thorough medical exam since it is an obligation, but man, that clinic is an official scam facility. I had my immunization reports about many of the mandatory vaccinations, but they simply said they don't accept any because otherwise, everyone would bring one. What I understood from that they just wanted money. when I insisted, they said if you want to, we can run blood work for immunization, but we will charge you. Then, I accepted vaccination even though it was double vaccination. I just didn't trust their lab results after that greedyness. Since they're the only authorized clinic, they just force people to get as much as they can. They run mandory blood work and chest x-ray as well as exam ( which is they make you almost butt naked and asks ridiculous questions repeatedly), and that cost $310. I hope your experience will be better.

Hello, congratulation to you and you spouse. I just have one question. I see it took over a year to get an appointment after you case was approve. why did it take that long because i am a foreigner living in Turkey. Is it advisable for m to transfer my home country??

Hello, I see you case took over a year to get appointment at Ankara?? I filed for my partner in Turkey and we are at NVC stage. We are thinking of changing embassy to her home country Cameroon. Any idea how long to get appointment in Ankara after DQ?

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
