Embassy Review : The people that answer the phones are just plain lazy and a waste of American tax dollars as they are shrewd and unwilling to cooperate. All my communication had to be via E-mail, including my getting my initial appointment back in January of 2007. You'll be lucky if you catch an American on the phone, as it seems like they are the only ones that cooperate.

Anyway, we arrived at the US Consulate in Baridharah, Dhaka around 6:45 am and got in line. As early as we was, there were still about 50 people ahead of us in line. Around 7:50 am they started trickling people into the embassy. What i found rather dumb was the idea of ripping open the medical packet outside the gates, prior to entering for the interview. I mean the whole idea of taking the medical reports in a closed and sealed envelope is to help avoid tampering of the documents within right?

So then, why rip it open, before the interview, while people are standing in line where they have ample time and oppurtunity to alter the contents of the packet. If anything, that envelope should have been opened by the interviewer during the interview process. Enough about my personal opinions now down to the interview details.

After they took our medical packet and handed it back to us. As we started towards the embassy, my wife was guided to a small curtained tent were she was very briefly inspected. Shortly after, we were guided towards the embassy. As we entered the building, we were sent through metal detectors, and our personal belongings were sent through the x-ray machine. Standard security protocol I guess. They took our packet 4 information and guided us forward.

As we guided ourselves to the waiting room, we

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
