Consulate Review: United Arab Emirates
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 2, 2021
Embassy Review : Medicals done at NMC in Abu Dhabi, took roughly 3h to get everything done and 1100aed.
On the interview day, arrived at Abu Dhabi embassy at 8:30 and the whole process took about 4h until it was done. At the entrance passport was asked, and all electronics stored as you cannot bring them inside. Bring everything in a clear folder and do not bring any sort of handbag. Embassy officer asked for beneficiary’s passport, interview letter, beneficiary’s medicals & birth certificate, marriage certificate, police clearance from UAE and beneficiary’s home country and 1 passport pics. After that, fingerprints were taken and asked to wait until another officer called. Whenever my name was called, Embassy officer just asked to confirm my husbands name. Questions he made:
- Where did you meet?
- When did you meet?
- What does he do?
- When did you get married?
- How long until you can resign from your current employer?

After all, officer said visa was approved.

Would just recommend anyone to be there before embassy opens even if your appointment is past 8am. You will avoid long hours waiting. Bring some small cookies and you might be waiting and there isn’t any vending machine.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
