Consulate Review: Egypt
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : July 14, 2008
Embassy Review : Thank god this part is over, and Gamal is approved. His appointment was at 7:30 and he got there at 7. They called him up 3 times to the CO window before the actual interview. First was for his birth certificate and military records, second was to pay for DHL, and the third to take his fingerprints. At this point he is getting incredibly nervous, poor guy. He was finally called back for the interview and the man asked him if everything in the file was true, and my poor Gamal went cotton mouthed because he had gotten so nervous. The CO told him to be calm, and relax, and he had a translator come in. Then he asked Gamal when we met, when he proposed to me, when I was in Egypt, and Gamal answered them all. The the CO said thank you for your answer, we will call you back in three months. When Gamal told me that I thought I would pee in my chair!!! But it turns out the CO got confused, hadn't been paying attention to the type of case it was and called Gamal back in. He apologized for the confusion, took his passport, had Gamal sign and swear that he would marry me within the 90 day, said congrats and happy wedding. I think a little more than that happened but poor Gamal was so flustered and nervous he can't remember all that happened. I suppose all in all, as long as he gets his passport back in a couple of weeks the interview went well.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
