Comments : |
1. Taiwan wasn't really affected by COVID. AIT stopped doing interviews for a few months in 2020, but resumed around August of 2020.
2. Comparing to those from Taiwan who applied around the same time as me, mine was slightly more delayed.
3. Administrative Processing took about two weeks for me. During that time, my case was never updated. My fiance finally decided to write to AIT to ask about my case and a couple hours later my case was updated and turned to "Issued". I think they might have forgotten about my case. This was March 3.
4. I received my passport three days after CEAC showed "Issued" (March 6), but my petitioner's name in the "annotation" part was misspelled. Had to wait till Monday to send the entire packet back so they could reissue my visa.
5. AIT received my returned packet on March 9, reissued on March 10, and I received my passport back on March 11. |

Very simple and straightforward.
They asked some basic questions about my relationship, marriage/wedding plans, and informed me of the 90 day expiration date. |

Overall process was great.
I arrived about 15 minutes before my interview (14:00) and turns out I was the last one to get there.
There were basically three stages:
1. Hand in your documents (chinese)
2. Confirm your information, take fingerprints, etc. (chinese)
3. Take oath and interview (english)
I was the last one to finish up, and I left at around 15:30. There was a lot of waiting in between.
Everyone was nice and very helpful. |

Timeline Comments: 2Hi Jessy , do you get NOA2 ?
My NOA1 24Mar still waiting ...finger crossed for both of us
no not yet, I'm hoping very soon for us though!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
