Embassy Review : |
[Overview]
-Approximately 20-30 applicants were waiting inside the office.
(Since it was still during the middle of the pandemic, it wasn't too crowded.)
-I wasn't checked for body temperature when going inside the building.
-The embassy pretty much allowed any bags that were clearly over the required size of 25×25cm.
Everybody brought whatever they wanted to securely fit their documents.
-Phone use was permitted while waiting for the interview.
-The person who was interviewed before me had an interpreter by her side.
She was able to do her interview in Japanese.
-I waited for an hour and a half but the interview itself took only 10-15 minutes.
-I wasn't asked to show additional proof of our relationship.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I was asked the following questions for my interview:
-How, when, where did you and your partner meet? Did it take time to physically meet each other?
-After your first date, how did your relationship proceed?
-Where was your partner living when you started dating? What was his job?
-What are your partner's hobbies?
-Have you met your partner's parents before? Was it over long distance?
-Has your parents met your partner before?
-How long have you been together until you got married>
-Was he the one that proposed to you?
-Was the engagement over a long distance?
-Is he a full-time student now?
-(Question about my E2 visa I had in the past)

Embassy Review : |
We didn't really have an interview, per se.
The officer asked us to submit what we think is necessary, and we sat in the office in silence for maybe 30 minutes while our documents were getting reviewed.
No questions asked. Maybe a question or two confirming about our mailing address, but literally that was it.
They didn't give me an immediate answer at the spot, since they had to go over my medical documents that I took before my K1 visa interview in my home country.
They approved me 2 days later, so my partner and I are so relieved that this process is finally over. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
