@jack & Anne,
you have updated your Email with NVC?
i dont want to call them either, but if they already have our Email id ( which we have given in the i129f) they will send email notification with our CASE No.?
where are you guys on the process? PCC and interview?
TIA
Jack & Anne on 2020-02-28 said:
@siggy I am not sure if they will send a notification through your email as a matter of practice or not. We waited to hear from them through snail mail, got impatient and on 18th Feb morning, my fiance sent them an email asking about the status of our petition and the very same day around 10 PM they emailed back saying that NVC is forwarding the case to Bombay. All this information was in an attachment in the email with the date 18th Feb.
As of now, I am going to appear for the medical in Delhi in mid-March and will book the appointment in a day or two and update my timeline accordingly. Plenty dates are available in April. I applied for my PCC (UK and India for me) as soon as I could after the NOA2 came. So that is taken care of.

Thank you for the detailed explanation.i really appreciate it.
Is that true that Mumbai consulate doesn't send us packet 3. Straight packet 4 then we can book interview? Or we can book the interview anyway after getting our case number?
Jack & Anne on 2020-02-28 said:
This packet 3 business confused me to no ends as well. There seems to be no such thing as packet 3. I still have not received the hard copy of Packet 4. Mentioning in brief what I did after my case reached consulate:-
1 - The day after it reached called 0120-4844644 helpline that please give further instructions. They said to send an email with name, dob, passport no and NVC no to support-india@ustraveldocs.com. Did that. They registered a case and said will reply in 1-2 working days.
2 - Received reply via email after 2 days saying that "we have sent a hard copy of packet 4 to your address, but here is the soft copy of it..."
3 - I had my DS 160 ready already. So I went straight to ustraveldocs website, created an account and fill in all details.
4 - Made K1 payment on 27 Feb through NEFT (Receipt generation takes time so wasn't able to book an appointment).
5 - Logged in again, receipt was generated and auto-filled and proceeded to book appointment.
CORRECTION ABOUT EARLIER COMMENT
Biometric date appointments are plenty for all consulates - even on Sundays. I booked in Kolkata.
The consular appointment is not plenty I am afraid. I booked in March but saw only 2 dates in April and 8-9 openings per day only.

hello, i need to ask you few questions if you can help. i received my NOA2. is my fiancee allowed to get the police verification certificate , and yes then what is the procedure?
Jack & Anne on 2020-03-01 said:
You can apply for your Police verification certificate yes. It depends on country. If it is India I took help from here - https://www.am22tech.com/in/indian-police-clearance-certificate/
I got my India one on the same day within an hour.
Nishv on 2020-03-01 said:
thank you for your reply. can she also get her medical examination done?
Nishv on 2020-03-01 said:
the page you sent the link of is not there or had been removed. can you guide me with the steps?
Jack & Anne on 2020-03-01 said:
The process of getting a PCC in India is something that a small google search will enable you to understand how to go about it.
No, you cannot get the medical done right now. All medical test centres will ask to see the visa appointment letter from the consulate.
Nishv on 2020-03-02 said:
my NOA2 states that it has been transferred to the consulate directly. did your NOA2 say the same?
Jack & Anne on 2020-03-02 said:
No I don’t think that our NOA2 said that. It said that it’s going to NVC who would then send it to embassy or consulate.
Siggy on 2020-03-04 said:
@Nishv, i didnt know that you have texted here, i sent Jack & Anne message with your doubt as they are ahead of us. Who received the NOA2 letter ? beneficiary or petitioner?
@Jack & Anne you can ignore my message.

All visa appointments cancelled in India as of 16th March 2020 due to the corona outbreak
Vabsmith on 2020-03-15 said:
I hope the interviews get started again in two weeks
Jack & Anne on 2020-03-17 said:
I hope so too! But the email they sent did not mention any time frame whatsoever. I wonder if emergency or urgent travel applies to K1 visas.
Siggy on 2020-03-20 said:
@jack & Anne
I just added US embassy bank details in my bank account for NEFT transfer (for visa fee)
once we make the payment it will automatically reflect in visa payment portal ( MRV-autofilled)?
I was wondering how that bank account payment will automatically reflect on completely different website. ( as you explained in profile)
Jack & Anne on 2020-03-20 said:
That is what happened. Took less than 24 hrs. Not sure how it works but guessing it has to do with the US bank account number which is unique to each case if the online articles are to be trusted.
Vabsmith on 2020-03-20 said:
@Siggy- Is it okay to pay the visa fees now if we do not have the file over to Mumbai consulate yet?
Siggy on 2020-03-20 said:
Yes ..it is valid for one year.
But some people are saying to wait until embassy says its ready.
Nishv on 2020-03-21 said:
@Siggy- did you pay the fees already?
Jack & Anne on 2020-03-21 said:
Vabsmith - I’ve read articles which say that it’s okay to pay the fees before your file reaches the embassy. But despite reading this I personally waited till it reached the embassy and the embassy reached out to me and invited me to book an appointment. Now it’s your choice.
Jack & Anne on 2020-03-21 said:
It definitely sounds safer to wait till all this blows over to pay the fees if you haven’t already. I have everything ready and really hope that I don’t have to do it again when the time comes because everything has expired - PCC from UK and India, medical reports and visa fees.
Vabsmith on 2020-03-21 said:
@jack&Anne- I agree I would prefer to wait before I pay the fees
Siggy on 2020-04-03 said:
I found the trick of getting MRV automatically after paying the Visa Fee.
May be we all get different/unique beneficiary account number that's how it gets updated automatically when payment hits the bank..
Jack & Anne on 2020-08-21 said:
Had emailed the concerned department about the validity of PCC and Medical. PCC is valid for 1 year from the date it was issued and medical is good for 6 months after it was done. I think I will have to go through these steps again! :(
Siggy on 2020-11-26 said:
Hi jack & Anne.. is there change of date on CEAC website,?
Siggy on 2020-11-26 said:
I mean many couples who had their interview cancelled are seeing some moments in their files ( based on CEAC website)
Jack & Anne on 2020-11-26 said:
Not sure what you mean. I can check if you let me know where to check.
Jack & Anne on 2020-11-26 said:
Okay so i just did a visa status check on https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx and they show that - Case created on 5th Feb and Case last updated on 25th Nov. Is this the change in date that you are talking about?
Jack & Anne on 2020-11-26 said:
Just checked the US Travel Docs website by logging into my account. Loads of Biometric appointments available in 5 major cities but unfortunately no consular appointment date yet for Mumbai. So nothing has probably changed.

Jack & Anne,
I was juts reviewing your timeline, and I noticed that you manage to get the EAD/AP combo card expedited, which is so amazingm especially during these uncertain covid times!
Would you mind sharing the grounds you used for that expedited request? From what I read, it seems that they are super strict with the reasons they accept as urgent.
Thank you so much in advance,
Di

I had a job offer and requested an expedite through chatting with an agent through Emma. I said I was facing financial hardship and had a job offer and would like to expedite. Before the request could be submitted by chat was disconnected but after 1 month I got an email asking for evidence for expediting. I just send a pdf of the job offer via fax and my card was approved.

Thanks for sharing your experience and glad it worked out for you.
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
