Embassy Review : |
We traveled 3 hours in a severe snow storm to get to our interview not knowing if the would be open. Once we arrived there was no on street parking because of the snow storm we had to park across the street and pay $40.00 we had our 2 month old daughter with us. we entered the building went through security check point and proceeded to rm e160 to check in we presented our appointment letter for interview and they ask for birth certificate for our daughter and asked were there any arrest reports to submit.
After that we proceeded to room E170 to wait for our interview our appointment was at 10am and we arrived at 9:15am my wife started bottle feeding are daughter and about 5 min into it a gentleman called our name to proceed down the hall to his interview cubical its this big long hallway we near the end.
After we entered his cubical he smiled and said he didn't mean to interupt breakfast for the baby my wife continued to feed as he poured over our file
He swore is both in under oath. He asked me do I certify that the baby was my child? I said yes of course with a smile. He ask how did you met? Ask us for our Id's, and ask me was I married to my ex-wife and found the divorce decree in the file he had.
He asked my wife was she a terriorist and my wife said no then he ask do you still say no to all the questions asked when you submitted on the I-485 he started asking for example Are you a member of the communist party etc, My wife said no.
He asked me for our marrage certificate and I told him he should have it because I submitted the original and when he couldn't find it I provided him with photo copy that I sent with the original package. Photo copy your whole package when you apply for anything because they can misplace your documents.
I was waiting for him to ask for the medical I-693 but he left the cubical and when he came back he said do you have the updated medical records I said yes the enveloped was sealed he opened it verified everything and said you are approved. Wait out in the waiting are for you approval letter. 30 min later someone called my wifes name and presented her with the approval letter and said you should recieve your green card in about 2 weeks They didn't ask me for lease, work letter bank statements,or Tax records, he didn't even ask for photos wow but its better to be over prepared than under prepared I am assuming that the Baby was proof enough. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
