Appointment was for 0830 and I arrived at 0815.
I was inside and through security by approximately 0825 with a couple other interviewees.
My number was called and I handed my civil docs over. They also wanted my previous C1/D visa as they would need to cancel this, which was in my old passport and glad I had the advanced thought to bring this along with me. As we submitted everything online, I wasn’t asked for any further financial or relationship evidence nor was I asked for anything that I didn’t submit to NVC. I was informed at this time that they didn’t yet have my medical (attended appointment on august 7th).
My interview was short and sweet, I held up my right hand to confirm all my statements were true and was asked the following:-
How I met my wife.
A few questions about my military service.
What my wife does now.
The CO was extremely friendly throughout and we even had a few jokes about how my wife & I met. She then confirmed we had been married for less than 2 years and informed that my visa was refused under 221(g) pending my medical results arriving at the embassy & once these arrive she would issue the visa and return my passport.
All in all a stress free experience.. I only wish I’d knew that the night before and I may have caught some sleep! |

Timeline Comments: 7Hi guys! I see you DQ'ed back in June. Have you heard anything from the UK consulate in London about your interview?
Hi @IsItLekker, we haven’t heard anything since being DQ’d - our case is still with NVC at the moment!
Yay! Congratulations on receiving your interview date! Did you expedite at all?
Yes, we expedited after DQ at NVC.
Hi! We have a similar timeline! How did you request an expedite?
Good luck at your interview today you guys! Keep us posted! :)
How long ago did you take the medical exam before attending your interview? Did they tell you how much longer it would take for them (the Embassy) to receive the exam results?
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
