Hi guys! Have you heard back from the NVC about your case?
AyeB on 2020-07-27 said:
Hi! NVC contacted us on Jul 10 saying we need to resubmit a few documents. We resubmitted the requested docs and have been waiting to hear back since then :(
I see that you got DQed :)

We did! We were so excited until we realized our freaking consulate (Johannesburg, South Africa) is refusing to open for immigrant visa interviews. It wouldn't burn so much, except we know someone who received an interview a week later for coming to the US to work as a farm laborer. Overall, Japan seems to be moving ahead quite well though, so once you guys do DQ, I don't think your wait is going to be unreasonable. Good luck!

Congratulations on DQ!! But I know, this whole embassy situation is making me crazy too. the embassy in Japan seems to be conducting interviews for CR1 and IR1, but the number of COVID positive has been rising here and I am worried that the embassy will close again. On top of that, the backlog is getting more and more.. I really hope the embassy in Yohannesburg will open soon too! Good luck and thanks for your message :)
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
