Embassy Review : |
I very well know that I needed a police clearance from the Netherlands since I stayed there for more than 6 months. From the reciprocity website and NVC, I was told that they are the only ones who can make such request from the Netherlands. True enough, I expected that the Manila Embassy already has it when they scheduled me for an interview.
I have all the papers and documents I needed except for that one. When it was my turn, they asked for such police clearance. I told them about it and even showed a printed page of the reciprocity website. They didn't say anything but directed me wait for my name to be called.
My name was called and I was told that I have to get the police clearance myself. I have to explain to the guy what their website tells me, they printed another one from the same website that I can get such document by mailing. The thing is, it is not for Netherlands but for Netherlands Antilles which is totally a different country. I have to orient them about the difference but they insisted and told me to call the Royal Embassy of the Netherlands. I have researched about acquiring such police clearance from the Netherlands and so I told them that I need information from them like the Name of the Contact person, contact number and such person's sig. They just told me to show the paper which says "come back when you have the document we requested from you" I finally gave up.
I called the embassy of the netherlands just immediately I got out of the consulate. I was not that it can't be requested from the embassy but I have to request it directly in the Netherlands. There's no way I can do it. I called my husband instead.
My husband emailed the US embassy in the Netherlands and ask how things work. They replied to him and inform him that my papers has been sent to the US embassy in manila last January 21 which is before my interview sked. Such police clearance was the one requested by NVC for my CR1. MY hubby then called the Manila Embassy and told them about it. He was told to fax the email he got and when he did and called them back again, they just told him the fax wasn't necessary coz they got the document just today. Who are they kidding? They are trying to make us believe it's just a coincidence. Duh! They told my hubby that I should go back to the embassy. And so I took the soonest flight back from my hometown to Manila.
When I was there, they only asked for my passport and nothing else. They can't even give me a brief idea about what's the possible outcome. So, I went home and waited for it. It took awhile and so my hubby then made a couple follow up until they mailed my visa to me.
