WOW! Congrats on getting you all approval so quickly! Hopefully, the embassies will open up and your interview won't take too long!

Thanks! I'm crossing my fingers and trying not to get too anxious /depressed. I called my senator's office today and they said they are expecting 18 months to 2 years delay!! That is crazy! Hoping and praying for the best.

Hi Kate I’m in the same boat. We got approved in March and still waiting for interview form Ghana. How were able to get interview that quick. Did you expedite your request

Hi Cobby/Audrey
I looked at your timeline and it looks like your application was received March 2021. Correct?
Mine was received at NVC in March 2020. It was there almost a year and a half before it moved to Ghana Embassy. From the timeline it looks like your application is a year after mine.
I didn't receive an expedite. It feels like I have been waiting forever.....Hopefully it won't be as long for you.

Hi everyone..I just discovered this thread...my fiancee and I are about to start our fiancee visa processing..pls how long does it takes from Ghana to US?
KateD on 2021-10-29 said:
Hi Amirra,
Have you submitted your I-129 f application yet to USCIS? I think it is really difficult to say how long it will take given the backlog due to COVID and embassies being shutdown for a long period of time. Mine almost took 2 years from the time I submitted my application to when my fiancé will be in the US. Hopefully, it will be faster for you, but it is impossible to say how long it will take. VisaJourney is a great resource during the process.
Best of luck,
Brooke

Hi kateD, please did you not have to provide anything from the embassy to the police before you can get the clearance?

Hi AB73,
You have to bring the Ghana police certificate with you to the interview at the consulate. That was the only time the police were involved.
Mrstagoe85 on 2021-11-02 said:
Hey kated!!! Did you have to wait on a letter from the consulate in Ghana before you scheduled for interview. My ceac status is reading ready and I've paid the fee should i schedule now or wait?
KateD on 2021-11-02 said:
Hello, Mrstagoe
Yes, I waited for the letter from the embassy before I scheduled the interview. It took a month before the embassy contacted me after receiving my application. Plus, you can't schedule the medical until you get the email with the packet from the embassy and you have to have the medical for the interview.
I would go ahead and get the police report and fill out the DS-160 if you haven't already while you wait.
Good luck in your journey.

How often are interview dates put up? Do you know?
KateD on 2021-11-05 said:
Hi Mrstagoe,
I have no idea. I would put the question up on the Embassy portal and tag it with Ghana. I was lucky when I first checked there were interviews available and I scheduled mine right away.

Finally you can rest now KateD. I and some other people are still waiting to get an interview date as of now they said interview date are not available, which makes everything really hard. Especially when you have reached this point.. but also I wanted to ask how it took you a week a half from the day you got the packet 3 to get Medicals and all those situated because I heard you need like a month to best prepare yourself.. like how did did you take to gather your things. Also for the interview what materials did you send to him to show your proof of financial information
Mrstagoe85 on 2021-11-06 said:
You need to fill out a i846 form and attach your tax transcripts. It needs to be original copies. Divorce decree if you were ever married original needed as well. A copy of the biometrics page of your passport and any evidence of your relationship you'll like to show. Im putting everything he needs in the mail tomorrow.

Hi Cobby/Audrey
I had a lot of time to get everything together while my application was at the NVC for over a year and a half! Anyways, once the application left NVC, my fiancé got his police report, we filled out the DS-160, and paid the fee. We had also put together our evidence of a relationship ahead of time. So all we had left was the medical. It was enough time since we were prepared ahead of time.
I also putting together the i-134 before the application left the NVC and finished it once it left for the NVC. I included 3 years of tax transcripts, my pay stubs for 6 months, and a letter from my employer stating I was employed and for how long. This was probably more than we needed but it is better to overdue it then under.
Hope this helps!

Hi All, please are we supposed to add an evidence in the first step?that's filling the I129 F form or we are supposed to submit it without evidence for the first step.Pls if we are supposed to add evidence what type of evidence should we add
KateD on 2021-12-06 said:
Yes, you should provide evidence when filing the I-129F. Provide as much as you have. Most people say it is better to frontload the evidence then to wait for the time of the interview.

Hi guys! Just ran across your timeline and it's really similar to ours! We're also at the ABQ field office but still waiting after also filing in April of this year. Not even an EAD yet! How did you get approved so quickly? What was your experience like?
KateD on 2022-11-26 said:
Hi CollinandTina,
I looked at your timeline. It looks like we applied a couple of months before you for AOS. However, I filed the I-129f more than a year before you did (Jan 2020). It's hard to say but maybe they are prioritizing people with earlier PD dates? Just a guess though. We waited forever for our case to move from NVC to the embassy and lucked out with AOS. It seems like eventually you get stuck somewhere in this process! However, seems like you should have your EAD by now!! Are you outside of processing times?
Everyone at the ABQ office is really kind and the interview went smoothly. Nothing to worry about! Asked just a few questions and looked over the evidence. I'm sure you'll be good!

Hello….Please how was the interview search like? Can you please pass on some information? The times that you did the search ? I have been searching over five months and still I got nothing. Kindly share please
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
