Arrived the embassy at 5.30amwith my big pile of Documents and folders😆my interview was for 6.30am.
So went in and Documents were collected from the CGI officer
Passport
Passport photo
Attestation of birth certificate
Birth certificate
Marriage license
Proof of relationship( pictures , calls/chat records
A middle aged lady with curly hair interviewed me at Window 19. I was no 5.
Questions asked.
1. How/when did you meet your wife?
2. What’s her name?
3. What state does she stay
4. How old am I and how old is she? ( there’s a significant age difference, but my wife doesn’t look it. The CO said same thing too.
5. What job does she do?
6. What job do I do?
7. Where does she stay in US?
8. What’s her pet peeve?
9. Do we usually have arguments?( for this part I told her I get grouchy a lot waiting for 12months for IL, she said she understands and that anyone will feel
Same way too.
10. Have I been married/ or her too?
11. Does she have kids? She has none.
12. Why did I get a joint sponsor ?( I told her the reason. She said your wife made more than enough so there’s really no need for one, but that’s okay)
13. How come your wife doesn’t file taxes? I told her. She read through my wife’s explanation why she doesn’t. She said oh! That’s true.
14. Do I understand the nature of her job? I said yes, she said that’s a very touching and caring job your wife does there, God bless her. I said Amen.
That’s about it,
Then she gave me
A white paper saying where I can go pick up my passport in 5days to 2weeks. Then I asked her so I am approved? She said yes! Lol
So it’s more like a conversation. No need to be tensed. You know your wife better than anyone. About 4 persons before me all got approved. I thank God for this group and all persons who have helped in one way or the other, God bless you all, finally wifey is seeing hubby 😠|

My Point of Entry was at Chicago. I entered 26th November,2021.
The CBP officer basically asked me questions as though it was a second interview. I answered all questions.
How I met my wife?
Ever applied for a tourist visa before?
What does she do?
Does she stay in a house or apartment?
Is this my first marriage ,and hers?
Asked me to confirm her old address and new address where my green card will be sent.
Asked me when we got married.
Stamped my passport and that’s it.
They didn’t search my bags, would have carried foodstuffs, fear of been thrown away made me to travel very light.
P.S: Qatar airways is awesome. You sleep and wake up to food left ,right and Centre. Their staff were also very professional.
I pray we all get to this point very soon |

Hello,
If you don't mind, could you explain the steps between getting the interview date and then setting up appointments for medical/ interview. I am kinda confused
Thank you all. Once you get your Interview letter, you should immediately call/email any of the 3 approved medical centers to schedule an appointment to be screened medically before your interview date. And also go and register on the Cgi portal as well.
Marah on 2021-10-20 said: Pls what is Cgi Portal
https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/
That’s the portal you need to sign up and create an account. So the Consulate can give you updates on visa pickups.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
