I (en, benificiary) am a dual passport holder (Canada+Russia).
The visa interview was very quick. I am the main earner in our relationship, so I was asked about how we will support ourselves. I showed a job offer letter conditional on EAD and proof of savings, which is what they wanted.
Visa issuance took three weeks. I assume this was a DHS name check triggered by Russian nationality. Was afraid it was going to get stuck in AP hell, but it ended up being only a week's delay over the estimate.
On crossing, the CBP officer was very thorough. He wanted to see my Russian passport (on top of the Canadian one which had my K1 visa), and read my job offer very thoroughly. Also standard questions about the wedding, relationship, etc. The health documents and the approved i-129f packets were also checked in detail. Overall, the process was professional and efficient -- cleared the border in around 45 minutes. |

Interview notice lost in mail because it was sent to previous address despite successful address change some months before. Called USCIS -- was hard to get through IVR, but managed to schedule a callback from Tier 2. Called back within stated 72 business hours. Both USCIS officers were polite and efficient. The Tier 2 officer sent a copy of my notice by e-mail.
Interview went more smoothly than our most optimistic guess. The (extremely friendly) officer requested no additional evidence and did what looked like the most basic mandatory confirmation of personal information. Ended up being just a very short 5 minute chat -- I suspect the decision to approve was made even before the interview just based on the case file. |

Change of address took too long so EAD got shipped to old address then sent back, then sent again to new one. |

Combo with N400.
Did my interview at the Newark office. Had to wait an extra two hours past the scheduled time, but other than that it was an altogether very pleasant experience. Everyone there was nice, and moreover looked like they enjoyed their work? Generally quite a positive atmosphere that carried into the interview.
The whole interview was over in 15 minutes -- a few =questions about when we started dating (before we were even engaged, which was funny for an interview whose focus ought to be the marriage?). But we have a child and S. took my name so perhaps we are an easy case. |

We interviewed with officer Foster. The interview lasted no more than 10 minutes and was easier than our most optimistic expectations.
She was extremely friendly and asked a few basic questions in conversational style. She did not request any of the heaps of evidence we brought in, though we did volunteer our strongest piece of evidence: SN's (the petitioner) pregnancy. Some questions about, say, travel time to Canada or about SN's due date were asked in multiple forms in what I suspect was fishing for inconsistencies, but on the whole it felt like the decision to approve had been made before we even walked in, based just on our case file.
The experience was far more friendly than just about at any other government bureau I've been to (and certainly more so than the rude service at the Dunkin Donuts near the office...) |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
