Comments : There was no Justifiable reason why my case was placed on Administrative Processing.

My Interview went well, all questions were answered and I had all relevant documents.

I suppose my case was deliberately abandoned, after the stipulated 90-120 days "Do Not Contact Window" I flooded there phone lines & inbox with petitions.

I may have also threatened a Mandamus during the numerous correspondences with them if I didn't get a reply.

My protests worked because after 2 days I was asked to just mail in my document for VISA issuance.

Approval / Denial Date : 2020-11-12
Approved : Yes
Got I551 Stamp : Yes
Greencard Received: 2020-11-24
Comments : My Green Card was wrongly Classified as IR-1 (10years) instead of CR-6 (2years).

I Called my USCIS regional office to notify them of the error.

Following an administrative review I was assigned a Tier 2 Officer who personally mailed me an apology letter & guided me on how I should go about resolving the quagmire with an i-90 application.

He advised I state on the Form i-90 the mistake was from USCIS, hence I was exempted from the filing fee.

I realized that the burden to resolve/correct this problem was on me, even though the fault was from USCIS.

If I had kept quite & treated the 10 years card a-such without filing for Removal of Conditions at the 2 years mark I would have fallen out of status & would be faced with a more difficult challenge when filing for Citizenship or Renewing the 10years Card.

The entire Filing i-90 process took approximately 1 month for the new corrected card to be mailed to me.

I’m hoping for the best in regards to my case. but I want to also prepare for the worst. Were you told that you were denied during your initial consulate interview? Also who’s inbox did you flood? And what was your request specifically? Thanks for your assistance! And congrats on your past success!!

The Interview was completely hitch free & awesome. I had all the requisite documents. Consular Officer even told me welcomed to the United States after the Interview & enlighten me what was required of me on arrival to the US since my application was via K1. I flooded both there ""LagosNIV@state.gov &&& LagosIV@state.gov"" mail boxes, my wife was also bothering them at the states department as well.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
