POE Review: Houston
Event Description
Entry Date : 2020-12-19
Embassy Review : Super smooth but not super fast. The lady at passport control sent me in the immigration room and sent my husband (USC) downstairs to baggage claim. In the immigration room you can't use your phone so I don't know for how long I was there. Maybe 45 minutes total. There were about 30 people in the room waiting. About 15 people into the waiting they called my name, asked me for how long I was married to my husband and what I was doing with the camera that I was carrying (I make YouTube videos which they became very interested and chatty about). Also asked me if I am bringing meat or other food or cash more than $10.000. Then I was sent to have a seat and wait again. After about 10 minutes they called my name again, confirmed my residence address which is in Houston, gave me back my passport with the stamp in it, asked me if I had any questions, told me that I can apply for a driver's license even before my SSN and SS card arrive in the mail (which I doubt but anyway) and wished me a pleasant evening. That was all. They were super friendly and funny. When I went to baggage claim, hubby was waiting with all our 4 checked in and 2 carryon bags on a cart. They did not open my bags. Also on the plane they didn't give us any customs forms.
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
