My husband had a very good experience. There was only 4 applicant at 7:30 am slot due to pandemic situation. He reached around 7:00 am and they all were taken inside at 7:15 am. After going inside, their fingerprints and documents were taken. They were called 1 by 1. His serial was 3rd and he waited around 30 mins before he was called. He was given option to choose bengali or english, he chose english. The interviewer was very polite and friendly. He was done in 15 minutes and got out by 8:30 am.
Documents submitted:
Marriage certificate, both bengali and english nikahnama, birth certificate, police certificate, passport and 2 passport sized pictures. All were original copies and they returned all except the passport and 1 picture.
Questions asked:
What is your wife's name?
What is her address?
Where does she work?
Is this a love or arranged marriage?
Is this your first marriage? Is it your wife's first marriage?
When did you get married?
How many people attended the program?
The interviewer saw our wedding pictures, didn't ask anything. Then he said congratulations to my husband and that his visa has been approved. He got two papers, one had passport pick up information and the other had information related to conditional greencard for CR1 visa.
Thank you. |

Timeline Comments: 11Hey Congrats on your I130 approval. How did you find NVC received your case same day your I130 was approved.
Hi! Thank you! They emailed that night with my nvc case number.
Thank you. I received the email too. Appreciate it.
Fariya Congrats on DQ'ed .. I am very surprised they completed it so fast. Did you expediate your case with NVC?
Hey! Yes I'm surprised too but I guess they are moving fast now as I saw many other fast DQ. No, I didn't do any expedite. Good luck on yours :)
Thanks for the Wishes... I am stuck on the Police Clearance Certificate, which I need to get for my spouse from India... its already a difficult and slow process and with Covid its going to be much difficult. Are you in Consular processing for visa or Adjustment of status?
My husband is in Bangladesh so we are awaiting on his interview appointment from the consulate now. Yes I understand how frustrated it can be and I'll pray that you get that cleared soon.
Hello Fariya.. quick question I see N/A in Civil documents, does it become active after I complete and sign the DS260?
Yes it will become avaliable just after you submit the DS-260.
Hi, my case just got approved! I was just wondering do you know how long it will take for it to get sent to NVC? And does NVC request for more evidence?
Mine got sent the same day and was dq'ed within a week. No additional evidence was requested, we just submitted all the required documents listed in the NVC account.
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
