Embassy Review : (Late review from February 2020)

Got there a bit early, so wandered around outside until my time to go in. Security were friendly and efficient.

As everyone says, it felt very strange jumping the big queue to get into the Embassy after security, but glad I didn't have to wait in it as it was very slow moving. I was sent to the floor and followed the signs to the appropriate area. After a short wait (10 minutes or so) I was summoned to a window to go through my documents, checking I had all the necessary paperwork. After another short wait I was summoned to another window and asked questions about how I met my fiancée and our wedding plans (which were late scuppered by Covid). My medical results had not yet arrived, so I was instructed to phone Visa Medicals to ensure they had sent them. I phoned them, and they had, so I told the agent and he said I was approved pending the results arriving (which they did the next day).

POE Review: San Francisco
Event Description
Entry Date : 2020-07-26
Embassy Review : I entered during the height of the pandemic in July 2020. As there was a travel ban from UK/EU, I stayed in Istanbul, Turkey for 14 days before flying to US.

As such, there was pretty minimal waiting time as international arrivals were way down. I presented my passport, visa and visa pack to the agent, he gave it a quick once over, asked me some basic questions, did a photo and fingerprints and then summoned a colleague who took me to a separate processing room. In there, my passport and visa pack was given to another agent who went through it without me. After 5 minutes, I was summoned to the desk, given my stuff back and welcomed to America. I was directed to a door that then took me directly to baggage claim and I scurried off to my connecting flight.
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
