Thank you! Hey so how long does NVC take coz my fiancé lives in Dubai, he needs to come now or just wait ?
blank avatar GSKhanuja on 2019-10-05 said:
NVC is taking about 5 weeks from your USCIS approval date to give a case number. I would suggest it's better your Fiance visits you after he has a valid approved k1 visa. Once NVC gives you a case number he can book a visa appointment at his home country(US embassy) and get his visa stamped.
blank avatar Mishty on 2019-10-05 said:
Yeah I mean to say that from Dubai to India not in US . Should he just stay there until he gets the NVC case number or go to India now,Like you know other already book the appointment as soon as they get their NVC case number ?
blank avatar GSKhanuja on 2019-10-05 said:
He can go back to India to get the civil documents ready for the visa interview. I would say he can try getting the documents ready after you guys get your NVC case number.
blank avatar Mishty on 2019-10-05 said:
Ok the one more question When we will get the NVC case number in 5 weeks or right after the USCIS got approved , or will we get notified?
blank avatar GSKhanuja on 2019-10-06 said:
You can call NVC in order to get your case number. They do send out letters but it takes longer(more than 6 weeks). You can start calling the NVC after 3 weeks from your approval date and keep on calling until and unless you get your case number.

Hi Mishty, Hope things are moving positive at your end. How did you manage the interview schedule? Please explain the process, so that I can also go ahead and schedule my interview. Good luck with interview and wish you the luck ahead in life.

Hi Mishty, congratulations on getting your interview date. Did you wait for Packet 4 to book your interview or did you go with the Packet 4 available online? My petition has reach Mumbai Consulate today and I was wondering what you did. I am afraid they will not send the hard copy like they haven't for many.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
