Consulate Review: Montreal, Canada
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : February 12, 2021
Embassy Review : Finally approved. The Montreal consulate (although recently doing much better) has had a track record for over a year of delays and low performance in comparison with similar countries. I am happy they are catching up but frustrated they delayed myself and many other people. The consulate itself was clean and nice. The overall experience getting my interview was professional and efficient so no complaints there. 5 for experience in the consulate, a 1 on the wait time to get the interview.
Rating : Very Good

Thank you I read your review. You said you uploaded your wife 2020 W2 where did you upload it in the CEAC PORTAL?
Flowergirl 737 on 2021-02-13 said:
It seemed like you did not do much waiting around in between talking to them. How long were you in there?
Jackanddeona on 2021-02-14 said:
Yes I uploaded to the ceac portal. My interview was at 7:45 so I was one of the first people interviewed so that contributed to how quickly it went.

Hey guys did you have your passport and visa couriered to your home address. My wife is in Nova Scotia and will have to quarantine when she get back home from her interview but will have to do it in a hotel. Just asking around to see if anyone had to do this.
HAB on 2021-04-07 said:
After the interview the passport will be send back after stamping through the courier service. But what about the sealed package that they send. Is still sealed paper package and send directly to the address of the beneficiary, So he or she can bring it to the border at the POE, or is already send directly and everything online now ?
Jackanddeona on 2021-04-07 said:
Everything is digital. You just bring your passport to the poe and they take it from there.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
