Congrats on ur file finally reaching NVC! Did you previously contact NVC or Uscis about why it took so long to be sent from Uscis to NVC? I'm asking because my petition was approved on Oct. 25, 2019 and it still hasn't been sent out. Thanks!

So your case status is still shows "Case Approved"??
JemAA on 2020-01-22 said:
Thanks. I never asked why it took to long. On USCIS website even though it was approved on October 16 they took about 2 months before sending it to nvc.

After being DQ how long did it take to get an interview?
JemAA on 2020-07-17 said:
I am still waiting for an interview. I had DQ on April 10 2020 so I still waiting.

You should try expediting if you have a decent reason. We had been DQ since June 1. Finally expedited on 9/14 and got approval of expedite 9/28. Interview is 10/19.

My husband who is the petitioner did send in an email and it just got approved so just waiting on the date now.

Congratulations on your expedite approval. The embassy should be sending you an email with a link to create an account. When you get that email you can schedule your interview yourself. We had our interview October 19th and were approved. My husband's passport reached the embassy on October 26th and is in processing. The immigration officer that he spoke to said that it should take at least 2 weeks to get the Visa issued. Good luck on your journey

Thanks. Hopefully it happens soon. Why did it take so long after approval to reach the embassy.

Because my husband lives in Dominica. Since it was going to take so long to process, we figured he might as well fly home and send it via DHL. Otherwise we would have paid hotel for 2-3 weeks

Ok. Understand.

Thanks. Super excited.

Trust me I know. My husband said the interview was super casual and simple. All his medical stuff was sent over electronically so they didn't even take his envelope. They didn't want to see wedding album, but did want to see pictures. I wish you guys the best. The waiting for the Visa is painful.....so close yet still so far😊. It feels surreal. Just want this nightmare over, as I'm sure you guys do to.

Yes we are. Just hoping everything goes smoothly.

Our Visa got issued today!!!! :) Went pretty quickly.
Now just needs to get sent back to Dominica.
It will go smoothly. Just make sure you go over the checklist and have all your documents and proof of relationship.

Good luck at the interview tomorrow!!! Thoughts and prayers are with you. My husband has made it safely to California. Port of entry was Miami and the whole immigration process was super smooth and easy there!!!
Best wishes!!!!

Thanks. Not sure. They said it usually takes 1 week but they are working with limited staff so it may take longer.

Hello. Your timeline gives me hope. Our case is currently with NVC (Texas), waiting on a review. Can you tell me how long it took from the date NVC started actively reviewing your case to you being documentarily qualified?
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
