Consulate Review: Morocco
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : February 11, 2021
Embassy Review : Took about 2 hours in the embassy. The officer was a woman and was very nice. They first asked for affidavit of support and taxes from 2019. The interview itself was about 20 minutes. She looked at pics but not conversations. She asked how we met, and when we met, how many times did I come to see him, my job, kids, past marriage, engagement party, wedding plans, proposal and questions about my family. Gave him a paper saying we were approved with aramex instructions. Passport was ready in 2 weeks. He went in person to inquire about it as it never seems to change in the system to track it.
Rating : Very Good

POE Review: Washington DC
Event Description
Entry Date : 2021-02-07
Embassy Review : Only asked when will we get married. Everyone was nice.

What’s going on? Have you responded or received a response to your RFE?
MAMR on 2019-09-21 said:
I haven’t had an rfe. Waiting on noa 2. What about you?
Khalid And Dawn on 2019-09-21 said:
We had an RFE and I responded and got NOA2 on 9/03 But haven’t heard anything since. I’m not sure why I thought your timeline said you got an RFE. Looks like you have about a month and get NOA2
MAMR on 2019-09-23 said:
Fingers crossed we all hear something soon!!
Khalid And Dawn on 2019-10-23 said:

Yes! Our petition is now at the consulate and we are filling out the last of the Ds160 this weekend so just waiting for interview date!
MAMR on 2019-10-23 said:
Awesome! I’ve heard it’s taking a while to get a date. Hopefully things will pick up soon
Khalid And Dawn on 2019-11-26 said:
WooHoo! Looks like you are consulate bound now!! Now the super long wait begins! Have patience!
MAMR on 2019-11-26 said:
Yes! Slowly dying over here haha. Did they send you anything in the mail? Or just an email?
Khalid And Dawn on 2019-11-27 said:
An email with our case number. Nothing in the mail. Once you get the case number you can go to the ceac website and type it in under visa status. When it says “ready” you can fill out the DS160 and email the consulate for an interview. The email you get back will be an automated response but at least you’ll know they got that request. From what I hear after that it’s about a five month waiting period before you get an interview date. Which means you also then have to email them at some point and ask them for an extension of your petition because your petitions only good for like three or four months...
Fz Duffield on 2019-11-27 said:
Hey ! Is it required to fill out the ds160 to start asking for the interview ? How many emails do you send per day ? What does the automated email says ! Thank you so much
Khalid And Dawn on 2019-11-27 said:
I don’t know if it’s required but it has to be filled out by the time you interview so it is best to do it before. When it’s completed you will get a confirmation that you MUST keep because you will need to bring it with you. The automated email just says something like we have received your request and will respond in a few business days(which they never do).
Fz Duffield on 2019-11-27 said:
Okay ! Thank you no they also started to ask the DS160 for the medical exam ... so yeah better do it now ( I hear it’s a bit tough to fill ou ) for the automated message , i also receive every time I send an email , but like this week’s return doesn’t say the same as last week !
Khalid And Dawn on 2019-11-27 said:
What does it say this time? The strange thing for us is that they are not even responding to my fiancé emails....
Fz Duffield on 2019-11-27 said:

Khalid And Dawn on 2019-11-27 said:
So when I send an email I get an auto response almost immediately, but when my fiancé sends one he does not get an auto response, And that concerns me because if the email from the consulate isn’t getting to him somehow he will not get our interview date. So I am not sure what to do.
Fz Duffield on 2019-11-28 said:
You both will receive a date , I suggest to put his e-mail as a copy when you send emails

I have a question if you dont mind. How did you know the consulate received it. was it just the NVC ready status or was it something else?
MAMR on 2019-12-13 said:
When it changes to ready that means it’s at the embassy. Prior to that it said in transit.

Everything is great so far!!! Just an adjustment to the cold haha. It’s been snowing and raining here. How has the first YEAR been for you guys!?!
Khalid And Dawn on 2021-02-11 said:
It’s been rough. We had to hire a lawyer because we did not get married within the ninety days. I just assumed we would get an extension because of covid and everything shutting down, plus I didn’t want some crappy ceremony! He seems to enjoy the cool weather in Seattle, but not the rain so much!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
