RFE - Requesting a new medical exam. I had one completed for my K-1, so unsure why they need another. But am doing so anyway and sending it off as soon as I have the sealed envelope. |

Embassy Review : |
Prepare for a very long review lol. All good news, I appreciated reading other peoples reviews leading up to my interview, so thought I'd give a detailed one myself. When people say not to be nervous about the interview they are correct. Had my interview Monday at 10:30am. I got to the embassy at 10 and was asked for my DS-160 and then was allowed straight through to the airport like security. After this I walked straight up to the doors where there was one huge queue for visas and then one empty queue for american citizens. It was about 10:15 and the visa queue I was in wasnt going down and I remembered how some people said that k1 applicants can go straight through to the desks. So I asked a lady who worked there what to do and she said to go through the american citizen line and wait at the desk. I was seen straight away, the lady took my DS-160 again and popped a number on it and then told me to take the lift to floor 1, turn left and then left again. When I got to the waiting room, it wasnt too busy. I was sat for about 5 mins before I was called up to the first window. I was asked, by a friendly american, some simple questions e.g. have I ever changed my name, have I any children, am I adopted etc. He then took my finger prints, then finally I had to hand over my passport, 2 passport photos, birth certificate, ACRO certificate, the affidavit and then he only asked for the tax transcripts from my partner. I did also give him a current letter from his employer as my partner is earning more now than what he was in last years tax return. I was then advised to sit and wait to be called at the final window. I waited about 10-15 mins before I was called up. They lady I had was friendly, but was quite stern and to the point. She asked several questions about my relationship with my fiance, nothing scary. She then said that it looks like they have everything they needed and that I should have my visa issued and back to me within 7-10 days, she finished by congratulating me. All in all the process took an hour from arriving to walking out a very happy chappy. All went smoothly and everyone was super friendly, if you have any questions whilst at the embassy dont be afraid to ask anyone |

Timeline Comments: 5Hi! Quick question on your AP; it appears you received a combo card (amazing!) but I was curious if you did any follow-up with USCIS/communication with them recently... We have very similar paths but got EAD only... very eager to get back home to see family! Trying to figure out how/if we should try and follow-up for AP.
Hey FlowerofScotland!! I didn't actually do any follow ups or have any communication with them. I was just waiting and waiting and then suddenly got my approval and shortly after my card came and it happened to be a combo card! Did you happen to expedite your EAD?
Hey Dusty97! No, we did not expedite at all; it's so hard to try and suss out what they are doing, when! I think we will be reaching out this week about AP, we are at 8 months processing and have ill family members at home!
(By the way, thank you so much for responding back to me - so appreciate it!)
I'm so sorry to hear about your family members. I really really hope you get news of your AP soon. The only thing I thought of was if you had expedited it, that could have effected the AP. But now I'm unsure why. Please keep me updated about your AP!! I hope it's soon.
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
