Had our biometric appointment yesterday. Went smoothly and quickly at the Raleigh office. They were a little ridiculous about the seating arrangements though. Wide open room and we weren't allowed to sit with our spouses/families for some unknown reason. She sat in one group of about 30 chairs and I had to sit in another group of about 30 chairs directly behind her. There was another small group of chairs for I-90 people and another for those who's information had to be verified (name different than passport so had to show marriage license). Again, we were all sitting in a single room approximately 30' X 30' but I couldn't sit next to my spouse during the 15 minute process. Didn't last long enough to be something to really complain about but there really was no rhyme or reason to their seating requirements since the had a "take a number" board and were issued numbers when we went in so having to sit in a specific area was really rather ridiculous.

Did you guys receive a separate NOA or notification for Advance parole and Employment authorization? Or is it included in the i-485 noa? Does it mention them specifically by chance?

Yes. We received NOA for both advance parole and employment authorization separate from the i-485. They are tracked independently. When we did our bio appointment it was recorded on both the i-485 and employment authorization but it's not needed for advance parole so it wasn't updated.

AOS interview today at 9:00am in Raleigh, NC. Arrived 25 minutes early. Waited until 9:00 am for them to start checking us in. We were first in line. Moved upstairs after check-in. Waited approximately 5 minutes until our number was called. When entering we were greeted by our interviewer. He was a very nice person and very understanding during the entire process. Swore us in and then asked my wife the standard yes/no questions required. Had noticed her sonogram when she pulled out her ID card and asked if she was pregnant. We answered yes and he congratulated us. Overall personal questions were very few. Maybe 5 or 6 about our relationship, family and so on. Nothing difficult to answer. Most questions were with regards to our finances and making certain that I can afford to support her and our family. Since I have a fairly substantial income we easily answered yes and that was about it. He took a copy of our sonogram and my birth certificate and said that they would let us know. We assumed that meant that we might have to go into additional review but we were surprised when about an hour later we were greeted with a "New card being produced" update on our case. Was an overall pleasant experience.
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
