Consulate Review: Dominican Republic
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : November 2, 2019
Embassy Review : We had interview today Nov 1 at 7am. We arrived to the embassy around 6:30am and when directly to the security check for the line of 7am. We waited about 2 hours from the moment we arrived until we were asked to enter for pre interview and to get the number. In the first window, they ask my spouse for his birth certificate, divorce certificate and passport. She asked some questions about my spouse parents name and last names. Then after that, she attempted to request documents from me but then later said it was fine and asked us to go to the waiting area on the other side where the interviews take place. We waited for about an hour until we were called again.
Questions to my spouse:

How do you meet?
Help me to understand why your divorce was close to the date your met
What do you do for work?
Do you live alone?
How many visit to the us?
Have you live in another country for over a year?
Which other country have you visited?
How many time your spouse have come to the Dom. Rep?
Where does your spouse stay?
What did you do during the last trip of your spouse to the country?
Did you have mutual friend in facebook?
How many days did you stay in the us during you last visit?
How many kids do you have?
Do they know your spouse?
Does your family know your spouse?
Do you have family in the US? Who? Where do they live?

To me (petitioner)
How did you meet?
Where do you stay when you visit the country?
How many bedrooms does your spouse house has?
Have you spend time with your spouse kids? Do you know them?
Did you have mutual friend in Facebook? How was your spouse suggested as friend in friend whemnyou met?
Who paid for the wedding ?
Who paid for the hotels/trips in the Dominican Rep?
How do you communicate?

Them she asked for evidence to proof the relationship;
1. We provide 2 photo albums one for the wedding and other with pictures of every trips to the country with family and friends.
2. Employer letter certifying my spouse is my beneficiary for all my benefits in the US
3. Evidence of joint bank accounts in the Dom. Rep and the US
4. Call history copies
5. Copy of hotels and flights reservation.

Than she said, your visa is approved,. You should pick up your passport in two weeks.
Rating : Very Good

Hey! We seem to have a similar timeline! :-) I will call the NVC tomorrow to see if we have been assigned a case and invoice number yet. Our case was received on August 28. Did you get the info by calling or did you just get the welcome letter? I just want to get things moving and happening now! It has been such a long wait... Out of curiosity, is the beneficiary waiting abroad in your case?

I called many times. But during the last call they told me they were doing data entry and later that night I received the email with the welcome information.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
