Consulate Review: Frankfurt, Germany
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : February 19, 2020
Embassy Review : My appointment was on February 18, 2020 at 9:30am. I went to the Consulate at 8:45am. My fiancé came with me and was able to go into the Consulate with me (they were very nice about it). He got a little card with an A on it to show that he can come in with me. I was waiting in line for 30 minutes before entering the little security area (like an airport security area). At the reception I got a piece of paper explaining the process and where I had to go etc. Everyone was super nice. When it was time for my interview the women made take an oath to tell the truth and told my fiancé that it’s fine for him to be there, but that he should just listen and not answer, since it was my interview .
She then proceeded to ask me the following questions:
- When are you planning to travel to the US?
- Who is your sponsor?
- When and where did you meet?
- Did you have a continuous relationship since then?
- Was either of you previously married?
- Any kids?
- Tell be about your plans for the wedding.
After I answered everything she said that my visa was approved and gave me my original documents back. All in all it took around 2,5 hours and was a good experience. The next day my case tracker showed that my visa had been issued.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
