Comments : We did a Direct Consular Filing (DCF) in Frankfurt, Germany.

Interview for my wife went very smoothly and everyone was apparently very friendly. I got my wife a night at the Best Western around the corner from the embassy for her interview and would highly recommend you do the same. Less stress and don’t have to worry about morning commute.

Overall from I-130 submission to visa pickup it took 5 months and 22 days.

I suspect you are confusing terminology. We lived in Germany and were eligible to file directly with the consulate (DCF) instead of filing via a lockbox in the United States. Hence, the timeline is much shorter. For some reason the system automatically selects the Texas service center even though we never submitted it through them. There are many others with similar timelines that we have that filed a DCF with Frankfurt since we were eligible.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
