Pretty straight forward. I waited for about 20 minutes and was called to the front desk. The officer asked me if I speak English and the purpose of my trip. |

Embassy Review : |
We had a very positive experience in our interview on January 28th.
The Rio de Janeiro Embassy is very organized and the staff is very helpful and friendly. We arrived at the embassy around 6:30 am as our appointment was scheduled to 7 am. A very friendly lady came outside the embassy where we were staying in line to check if we had an appointment. After checking it with everyone in the line she asked everybody to follow her. We went to a room and the same lady gave me two papers with instructions of what they need from me and my fiance, the other paper was personal information. We organized the documents, filled the information they wanted and the lady helped us to double-check the documents to see if everything was ok. She asked us to sit down again and wait until they call my name. They called my name and we went to the last window, where they check some information on the DS-160. After that, we were asked to wait again for the final interview. We were called and the interview was very smooth. We never felt like they were there to make it difficult, they were very friendly and helpful. The actual interview took less than 5 minutes. We spent probably less than an hour inside the embassy.
My fiance was with me. |

Olá, vocês conseguiram marcar a entrevista quando o caso saiu do NVC? E 28/01/2020 foi o dia mais próximo?
AF&RB on 2019-11-06 said: Olá!
AF&RB on 2019-12-30 said: Oi!
Good luck on your interview! We just sent in our i485 application yesterday. They should receive it Tuesday and then we should get the NOA receipt a week later. Look forward to hearing about your interview.
Siggy on 2020-01-28 said: Congratulations for entire thing:) i have question, you have mentioned we can apply for SSN before marriage... what all documents they required ? and have you got the SSN within how many days?
we can not get SSN before POE ??? TIA
All the best...Congrats on your approval and marriage to come. My fiancé coming on Friday and we have all plans set to be married one year from engagement on Valentine's Day... here in Palm Springs; where the weather is a balmy 80 degrees. Life couldn't be better...all the best for you in your future together. Chipper
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
