Have you received your visa yet, or has it been issued? My fiancé had to mail his passport back for his visa and am hoping we all get our visas issued ASAP!

We're still in administrative processing sadly. Last Wednesday they e-mailed my fiance and said they don't have his passport. Then they e-mailed him on Thursday saying they did actually have it and her going through the "normal administrative processing". It was delivered to them 9/3. How long have you been in administrative processing?

My fiancé’s interview was 7/2/19. They initially told him he was approved, but then send him a request for form DS-5535 which is for extra vetting(why they chose him of all people to need extra vetting, who knows!) They recently requested his passport back and they received it a week ago(according to postal tracking). Been in AP entire time.

Wow, that's so random. I haven't heard of the DS-5535 before today but it seems like a newer form of vetting applicants. We were told we were approved abut 3 hours after his interview and he mailed his passport back the following day. No request for any additional documents. It seems so odd that we're both from California, applying for a fiance in Canada (Montreal consulate) and going through almost the same exact issue. I hope you aren't waiting as long as we are (with them having the passport in-hand). With Canadian Thanksgiving coming up, I'm afraid there might be more delays. For the entire 45+ days that they've had his passport, our status on CEAC has not changed (immigration to nonimmigration, etc). The only times the date "updates" is when we send them an e-mail to clarify what is going on. What do you think?

Those similarities are pretty interesting. I’ve had atleast one update so far since they’ve gotten his passport back. We haven’t sent any emails so it must mean something(hopefully). Other than that all we can do is wait, because who knows. You’d think since we had our interviews first they’d make it priority to get our visas together over all these others that are it’s having theirs!

Ours finally shows as “Issued” on CEAC. Hoping yours is soon, if it hasn’t already!
