Our interview went beautifully! The officer was extremely nice and asked minimal questions. She took our 2019 tax return, some photos, signed letters from family and friends and a few other items. Her final question was to have my husband look me in the eye and tell me why he married me. He teared up and said, "she's my destiny", she then asked me to do the same for him, and I said, "he is the most loving, kind, responsible and honest man I have ever had the pleasure of meeting". We were both crying at this point. She stood up, handed him a single sheet of paper and said, "Welcome to the US, you're approved". We both sobbed and hugged and laughed! We walked out of the USCIS office with huge smiles on our faces! Our interview was at 7:15am, we were done by 7:45am so we spent the rest of the day having fun! Be patient, this process takes a long time, but in the end, it's worth every minute! :) My husband's Green Card was mailed on 2/11/21 so we should have it in a few days! :) |

Received SSN two weeks after receiving the EAD card. We chose the option to have the SSA issue card within the I-485 application. |

My now husband and I started our journey in May of 2018. We used a service called RapidVisa to file the original K-1 visa. This was service was awesome and helped us every step of the way with filing. My husband had his interview on 5-28-19. The interview went well, but they gave him the 221(g) stating they needed a copy of my passport and conversations from our first communications on Facebook (all of which we had already submitted). We provided the paperwork and sent through Aramex. He was called back for a second interview on 9-10-19. Second interview went extremely well. He said he just started talking about us, our life, our dreams, etc. She barely asked any questions because my husband just kept talking and basically gave her all the answers LOL. He was approved on the spot! He was told his passportvisa would be available for pick-up at the Aramex office the next day. He went to pick up the passportvisa at the Aramex office and was told it was not there. He went back to the consulate and explained his situation to a very nice security guard. The guard called someone inside the consulate and the officer told him to tell my husband that yes, it WAS there and to go back and tell them he talked to an officer and confirmed. He went back to Aramex and the person that helped him went back to check and was gone for about 10 minutes. She came back up with a passport in a sealed envelope. She wanted him to sign a paper before opening the envelope and he said no, he wanted to check the passport first. Thank God he did because they gave him THE WRONG PASSPORT! It was for an African American woman! The clerk looked like she was going to barf, and scrambled to the back and eventually found his passportvisa! My husband arrived in the US on October 17,2019. We married November 2019. We submitted the I-485 in November of 2019. We finally got the notice of our interview was scheduled for February 9, 2021, in December of 2020. We were approved on the spot and his Green Card was mailed on 2/11/21. It's definitely a long journey, but be patient, it's worth the time to know you'll spend the rest of your life with the one you love! I wish everyone good luck and God bless! |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
