No interview for I-751. When I went for my N-400 interview, the officer asked if I can wait until they get the I-751 case transferred to their field office so they can approve it and I can get my certificate. We waited for about an hour. I got a call that it might take a while yet and we can leave so we do not have to wait longer and that I will just get an oath ceremony schedule in the mail. |

I arrived at around 6 and lost track of time since because I wasn’t wearing a watch (and honestly, too nervous to care 🤣). My appointment was at 0635. There are different lines for different appointment times. Make sure you ask the guard because some people who are waiting are applying for a tourist visa, so you can proceed in front. I kept hearing “fiancé/e visa applicants first, tourist laterâ€.
When we were finally called to proceed, the usher gave us a ziploc bag where we had to put our passport (should be opened, showing your biopage) and was told that he only needs the DS-160 confirmation page. When it was my turn, he asked for my name and confirmed my appointment time. After that, he put a barcoded sticker on my DS-160 and gave it back to me. I was asked to proceed inside.
Before getting in, there will be a security check — both you and your belongings. I didn’t have to wait because they just opened so there were no people outside. When you get in, there’s another security check.
Pre-screening (Window 44):
â˜‘ï¸ Passport, DS-160 confirmation page, appointment letter, MRV receipt, PSA birth certificate, PSA CENOMAR, NBI clearance, SLEC medical sealed envelope.
1. Your name and birthday.
2. Your fiancé’s name and birthday.
3. How did you meet your fiancé?
4. You were a J1 intern?
5. Length of stay in the US.
6. Did he visit you here? When?
7. Never married? No kids?
8. Why is your birth certificate late registered?
9. Verified my address, contact number, and e-mail.
She gave me back my DS-160 confirmation page.
Fingerprint scanning (Window 51):
1. Your name and birthday.
2. Never married? No kids?
3. Scan your fingerprints.
She gave me back my DS-160 confirmation page.
Proceeded to the waiting area for interview. Waited for about an hour.
Interview (Window 61):
Gave me two pamphlets about domestic violence and told me to call 911, if needed, and that it’s for free and that they know about marriage-based visas. Asked me to raise my right hand for the oath.
1. Who’s your petitioner?
2. How did you meet him?
3. You were an exchange student? (J1 intern).
4. Asked about my explanation as to why I’m unemployed on DS-160 (I was asked to work for 2 days for free to see if I like it and he said “I’m sorry to hear thatâ€).
5. So were you an exchange student in (fiancé’s city)?
6. What did you do when you were an intern?
7. What’s his job?
8. Did he visit you here in the Philippines?
9. Aside from the US, have you been to other countries?
10. Did you stay for more than 6 months or worked in these countries?
11. Were you petitioned before?
12. Why is your birth certificate late registered?
13. Do you have your local civil registration with you?
14. Do you have your baptismal certificate with you?
And then he said “Okay, we have everything that we need from you. I will recommend your visa for approval. You will get your passport in 2 to 6 weeks.†(What a relief!) He asked me to get a piece of paper so I can verify or change details for my passport delivery. I profusely thanked him and left.
Thank God! I wasn’t able to fall asleep the night before because I was too nervous. I was praying the entire time I was waiting, because it’s the final step of the visa process and this interview will determine everything! Finished everything around 0920.

Hello! I'm curious about your biometrics appointment! I'm in Wisconsin as well :) July AOS filer. 2 questions:
1. Did you already had an appointment and was cancelled due to covid?
2. When did you receive the notice for your appointment?
Tell us your appointment experience :) I have a friend (March filer) who hasn't received any news. She's in Wisconsin, too. So... According to your timeline, she's going to know something very soon! I hope hehehe
TIA!
AFCF on 2020-08-13 said: No. I didn’t get an appointment before shutdown. I filed in Feb and didn’t get a notice til March. I got my appointment notice Aug 3.
Hi again! I created a FB group for people doing AOS in Wisconsin, if you want to join: Adjustment of Status Wisconsin 2020. Have a nice day :)
AFCF on 2020-08-22 said: Thank you so much for letting me know! I’ll definitely join. You have a nice day as well.
Did you have to sign to receive your green card from the post office? My husband should be getting his on Monday.
AFCF on 2021-05-09 said: No, didn’t need to sign or anything. 😊
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
