POE Review: Washington DC
Event Description
Entry Date : 2019-06-23
Embassy Review : I waited almost 3 hours to let go from the custom after my plane landed. My information was checked once at the port of entry where everyone waits in the line. The waiting time was around 40 mins the first inspection. After answer few questions, I was handed a box of which my passport was locked inside and told I need to go to another room for further inspection. I then walked into a room where people have their luggage scanned. The room has approximately 30 people waiting at the sitting area. I waited about 2 hours, and finally someone start to go through my paperwork. I was asked simple questions about wedding date and where my fiance is (who was waiting for me outside for almost 4 hours). Then my passport was stamped. The entire waiting thing is totally unnecessary if they have someone working at the port of entry with ability to process K-1 paperwork.
Harassment Level : High

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
