POE Review: Atlanta
Event Description
Entry Date : 2019-09-12
Embassy Review : We entered the country together at around 2 pm on Thursday. The entry itself was fine overall, though the directions by the airport personnel were somewhat conflicting. Basically went to the machine to scan the passport but there is no immigration option. The staff was not sure what to do with us so sent us on to the desks. It was in the section where USCs enter. After stating my purpose the officer called someone to escort us to the immigration section - all the way to the end of the area before exit. This area was manned by 3 officers - not because there are so many immigrants entering, but because this was the same place where people take their Global Entry interviews. After waiting about 15 minutes I was called in. I was asked precisely three questions - 1. what is the address in the US where you will stay? Before I could finish the officer read it from the paperwork and finished it for me. 2. What is the phone number you can be reached? 3. Do you have any other questions? Then gave me a print out for SS and informed me that the green card will be mailed to me in 3-6 months. Stamped the passport and off we were. The officer was not rude, but not "warm" either, very indifferent. I did not get any "Welcome to the US of A" or anything of that sort, which was kinda disappointing. There is no spot at the airport with the flag or welcome to sign either, to take a picture of such pivotal moment in one's life. Oh well.
Was out in less than 30 minutes.
Harassment Level : Low
