Comments : We don't know when NVC received the package. Instead, we have the date USCIS sent to NVC.
On December 20th, we were requested to submit the Petitioner/Primary Sponsor divorce decree (this document was not requested in the original list). Our case was sent back to the end of the line and needed to wait 2 more months (actually 66 days) for the second review. Just to be safe, we also sent the 1st marriage certificate and the divorce decree. Finally, we got approved on Feb 25th and the interview schedule on March 13th (Friday!!!! I am not superstitious at all! That's was a lucky day for us!).

We had the 1st interview canceled because of the covid-19. Brazilian consulate was closed in March, 17th 2020. It took almost one year to get a new appointment (curiously right after Trump went out of office!). Then I've got the 2nd interview scheduled for March, 3rd 2021. Finally god the interview and I'm in the US now, waiting for my documents.

Comments : The line was not to long (probably because of the pandemic). They took my passport, verified some stuff in the computer, stamp my passport and called me to handled me back. No questions or comments and I was good to go. I think it took 15 minutes since I got the immigration room.

Event Description

Embassy Review : We had our appointment scheduled to 10am. We were there 10 minutes earlier. They walk us in, the staffer gave us some forms and the documents checklist (you must put all documents in the sequence listed). After some time, a 2nd staffer called us to a booth with bullet proof glasses and ran over all the documents. After over 3 hours wait, the consul was checking his computer for a while (probably looking at our documentation) and finally called us for the interview (we were the very last interview of the day!!!). After 3 or 4 questions like 'we did you meet?', 'where are you planning to live?", etc. He told us everything looked good and he would take some notes. At the end, he told us my visa would be printed in the same day but it would be available at ASC probably in the next week. The consul was very polite and smiley the entire time.
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
