The second person we saw asked my husband about the food that was brought over and then informed him that his stamp was good for one year and he may use for work and to travel. They told him to inform the appropriate department if we decided to move. We were never asked for his X-rays but we did have them.

Consulate Review: Jamaica
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : December 21, 2019
Embassy Review : ***DISCLAIMER THIS CASE WAS EXPEDITED***

We arrived to the Embassy for our interview at 645 for an 815 appointment. Were sectioned in to groups and provided the information on what is and is not allowed. We were not allowed to bring in a backpack, but women are allowed to carry a purse. So if you are carrying a purse you can carry something convenient enough to hold your documents.
When we arrived to the second group our paperwork was reviewed and at that time we showed our appointment confirmation email stating that our appointment was on December 20th. Once they found our names on the list they scratched us off. We proceeded to security and in to one more line. At this time it must have been 700. Approached the lady at the counter with our documents and she asks for our interview letter. I handed out interview letter to the lady at the counter and begin trying to explain that my interview date was different from my AIS Visa site (I will include at the end of my post.) She noted that my husband’s interview letter was for January 6th at 800 and instructed us to proceed for interview processing!! We were super excited and then the waiting game began. 715 we make it to the seats for immigration processing and we’re finally called up for biometrics and civil document validation around 945am. Which reminds me, I honestly don’t understand why they tell you to bring copies of your documents and they never even take them.
OUR TURN:
CO: When did you meet?
My Husband: 2008
CO: (puzzled look) Ok where?
My Husband: At a Party
Me: We met at a Christmas party (thinking to myself let me help my husband get through this because he was so nervous)
CO proceeded to ask me two questions that I then answered. Turned to my husband and said: When did you do your medical? My husband then said December 16th.
He asked my husband a question about our interview in February of this year when we were trying to get him to visit me. We both answered this question. He asked what’s his plans were once he arrived and once my husband answered the CO told my husband that once we got the medical results in his visa will be finally received in two weeks and that he has to leave before the expiration date and not on the day of or the day before.
All that matters is that WE ARE APPROVED!!!!
Rating : Very Good

Was your case expedited for any reason??

SNJOHNSON on 2019-08-24 said:
Yes I did expedite my case. My first request was sent through my Congressman but I do not think they processed it correctly. When I called and processed on my own I found out within 2 weeks.
Ms.F.Brown1 on 2019-11-30 said:
After you emailed your expedition. How long did it take before you found out if it was approved or not?
SNJOHNSON on 2019-12-01 said:
At the USCIS stage I had 14 days from notification to mail my paperwork. Once I mailed it in, I found out that it was approved I found out the approval 14 days afterwards. At the NVC stage I found out 9 days after I submitted the email request.
Ms.F.Brown1 on 2019-12-01 said:
Ok cause a lot is going on with my Stepson. We finally sent everything in via email on Tuesday. So we hoping they respond back to it ASAP.
SNJOHNSON on 2019-12-01 said:
Good luck with that it may be so much easier since they allow processing to happen via email. Good luck!!!
blank avatar FranciscoAndrew on 2019-12-14 said:
Did you guys got expeditious approved even at nvc stage?
SNJOHNSON on 2019-12-14 said:
Yes and No. Embassy denied the first request and NVC kind of gave me a quicker case number. Once I completed everything and DQ’d, I submitted the request again and got approved. I should have tried to expedite after I sent the documents as I think it may have made a difference in my DQ and such.
Sea Leslie on 2019-12-16 said:
Hi, at the NVC stage... what did you request in your email? Thanks
SNJOHNSON on 2019-12-16 said:
I used the same rationale I used at the USCIS stage and just typed an excerpt of it the body of the email. I attached all evidence.
Ms.F.Brown1 on 2019-12-17 said:
Congrats on y'all approval in the NVC stage. We got denied by the embassy as well 😏. But NVC haven't said anything to us about doing it instead. So i called and they said our case is still in que for review. This is taking so long to finish smh.
SNJOHNSON on 2019-12-17 said:
Girl!! Thanks and who are you telling. I am so frustrated right now because I was told to make my appointment online. I did so and now that I have done it and we have a scheduled date Kingston IV email sends me another email today with a totally different date, like they didn't already see I had a date in the system. I am like ugh!!! Good luck to you :-)

Hey hey I'm so happy that he finally got his passport. We're still waiting for our approval at NVC. They are really given us the run around about it. I've sent 2 Expedition request and even contacted my senator 🤦🏾‍♀️. They are being the worst right now at the moment.
SNJOHNSON on 2020-02-06 said:
We are finally able to breathe!!! Girl that is so crazy! Did they even acknowledge that they received it? You have to stay on them!
blank avatar Bking on 2020-02-06 said:

SNJOHNSON on 2020-02-07 said:
I received an email stating that it was shipped and so forth. We received it on Thursday or something like that and it was available at DHL that Monday but I had them to bring it to him.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
