Consulate Review: Manila, Philippines
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : November 19, 2019
Embassy Review : Just a few things I feel that have not been touched on in previous reviews:

1. IV Manila will send you a list of documents to bring to the interview. If you follow that list you will be fine. I brought so many documents and they weren't even looked at. They also indicate which ones to upload to ceac. If those files have already been uploaded and accepted then don't worry about it. You can still bring those documents to the interview just to be sure.
2. Bring the EXACT SAME copy of the PSA documents you uploaded on ceac to the interview. They will scrutinize those documents and keep them on file.
3. During the medical exam, they collect four 2x2 pictures and give one back to you to be given to the embassy. They didn't ask for mine at the embassy but bring one just in case. There is also a booth for your picture to be taken inside the embassy in case you forgot your pictures.
4. My medical results weren't handed to me and were sent directly to the embassy. They only mentioned my results once saying that they expire at a certain date.
5. For your sake don't bring any kind of battery operated electronics or chargers or earphones during the interview. Don't bring water either. There are fountains near the bathroom of the waiting area or you can buy some.
6. Come early. Dress appropriately. Answer directly. Smile, be polite. Wait patiently. 🙂
Rating : Very Good

Hi. Just wanted to ask how did you learn when you receive your NVC? My i130 got approved July 15, 2019. And we are still waiting. Thanks in advance.

Thank you! I know they're so hard to get a hold of but good luck to you! We will try calling again in a couple of weeks to see if they've already generated the case number

Hi! I noticed in your timeline that you got approve fast. Are you a US citizen or LPR?
Peter And Kat on 2019-09-30 said:
Hello! Actually I am the beneficiary (Kat). :) my husband is a US citizen. Thank you! It actually is taking us a while to get our documents reviewed at NVC :(

Hello. NVC just updated their website today and it shows that they have reviewed documents submitted on August 28th. Have you received your interview date already?
Peter And Kat on 2019-09-30 said:
I wish! The August 28 date is for the NVC Case number, documents review is from August 16th :( it's been more than a month and our documents still haven't been looked at

We have submitted the IV package just exactly a week ago via CEAC online. I don't expect to hear from nvc in the next 3 weeks. But keeping my hopes high since i read that some cases have been CC'd even though their submission date is not between the document review dates as per USCIS. Hoping we can get the interview letter by next month. 😊 Please keep us posted. Salamat!

Hi! Congrats on your case! may I know when is your scheduled interview? around November? I am almost1 month behind your submittal date to NVC. Will be expecting DQ around 2nd week of November. Hopefully, no RFE's!

After case approval, do we need to get Police Clearance Certificate?? Because PCC is needed at NVC stage right??
Peter And Kat on 2019-11-01 said:
A photocopy of your NBI certificate will be needed at NVC stage

When case received they not assign case number at that time? Do you need to wait for case number even after your case being received by nvc? I thought these comes on the same day 😢
Peter And Kat on 2019-11-04 said:
Of course. It's a 3-4 week wait. Please refer to the NVC Filers thread to get a better idea of case number assignments

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
