No. Although many do the application themselves, I noticed that many get RFE's and get delayed. I spent the money on the Visa Coach and he helped set up and review everything in my initial I-129f package. I spent a lot of time checking, re-checking and then rechecking again before having him review all of my documents. I believe the painstaking preparation helped speed up the process.
I used Rapid Visa so I am hoping for similar results. Best of luck to you!
